In Across the Leagues today:
Today’s Europa League 2nd round qualifying matches have a very mixed look to them, with some colourful match-ups on the fixture list…
Coleraine v Motherwell is Northern Ireland v Scotland.
Rangers are in Gibraltar to face Lincoln Red Imps FC.
And in normal circumstances, Shamrock Rovers v AC Milan would also be one to keep the matchday programme for.
As you might expect, those on-paper mismatches are reflected in some very short Match Result odds, too.
Tottenham are 1/4 (1.25) to win in Bulgaria at Lokmotiv Plovdiv, for example.
AC Milan are 1/6 (1.17) to beat Shamrock Rovers.
In the early 4pm kick off, Rangers are just 1/20 (1.05) beat the Imps. A £10 stake would win you 50 pence.
Elsewhere, our Dutch friend Wout Weghorst is just 4/11 (1.36) to score for Wolfsburg, as the German club travel to Albania to face FK Kukesi.
Viking v Aberdeen, 7.30pm…
There’s one match price that stands out for me, and that’s Aberdeen to win in Norway this evening…
The Dons have started the Scottish Premiership season in good form. After a 1-0 defeat to Rangers on the opening day, Aberdeen have posted four wins in a row.
Add in a thumping 6-0 victory against NSI Runavik of the Faroe Islands in the previous round of Europa League qualifying, and Derek McInnes’ side are on a five-match winning streak overall.
There’s a decent prize at stake tonight, too. The winner of this tie will face a big European name in the next round, 18-time Portuguese league winners, Sporting Lisbon. That’s a good incentive.
Viking have won three in a row, and sit 8th in the Norwegian league. A leaky defence could prove their downfall this evening. Viking have conceded 15 goals in their last seven games.
Counter that with the fact that Aberdeen’s defence has been breached on just one occasion during their current five-game winning run, and the case for the away win at 9/5 (2.8) looks good to me.

Europa League Qualifying
I’ll be back tomorrow with a couple of angles for you as we head into the opening weekend in Italy and Germany. Plus, I’ve got my eye on a player in Austria.
Enjoy the football…
