In Across the Leagues today:
The goals continued to flow in Germany yesterday. Just not at the Allianz Arena…
Would you believe it, it was the league’s top scorers and reigning 10-time Bundesliga champions that let down our Tuesday-night Over 2.5 Goals treble.
Bayern Munich went a goal down after just 4 minutes against FC Cologne. And it took a last-minute long-range screamer from Joshua Kimmich to salvage a point for the hosts. Until then, it looked like Cologne were going to hold on for an unlikely 1-0 away win - a Correct Score that was 50/1 ahead of yesterday’s game.
In the end then, still something of a shock with a 1-1 draw (16/1). As the match stats on our website show, Bayern dominated proceedings - without being able to put the ball in the net more than once. Including 25 shots, to just 3 from their opponents. I guess this is why we love football…
Match scoreboard:

Elsewhere in the German top-flight, the high-goals pattern continued yesterday. With Tuesday’s four Bundesliga fixtures averaging 4.5 Total Goals per game. After a record-breaking tally of 41 goals in nine games last weekend (averaging 4.55 per game).
Yesterday’s results:
Schalke 1 RB Leipzig 6
Hertha Berlin 0 Wolfsburg 5
Hoffenheim 2 Stuttgart 2
Bayern Munich 1 FC Cologne 1
Key stats:
Those are some mega stats. Shall we go again tonight? I think we should…
Matchday 17 concludes with five games on today’s Bundesliga schedule:
Mainz v Borussia Dortmund - 5.30pm, Sky Sports Mix
Augsburg v Borussia Monchengladbach - 7.30pm
Werder Bremen v Union Berlin - 7.30pm, Sky Sports Mix
Freiburg v Eintracht Frankfurt - 7.30pm
Bayer Leverkusen v Bochum - 7.30pm
To be quite honest with you, I fancy Over 2.5 Goals in all five of those. The home v away Head-2-Head stats on our website back that up with a flurry of 2.5+ average Total Goals figures. Let alone that recent burst of January scoring activity…
A five-fold Over 2.5 Goals acca for today pays 18/1.
Other ‘full house’ options include 13/1 for all five games to tick the Yes box for Both Teams to Score.
And with the really high goals form in mind, taking the greater odds for Over 3.5 Goals looks like a decent plan of attack, too…
For example:
Targeting these three games to all break the higher Over 3.5 Goals line pays 30/1…
Augsburg v Borussia Monchengladbach
Werder Bremen v Union Berlin
Bayer Leverkusen v Bochum
My advice for those three Over 3.5 Goals selections: splitting a stake four ways across a Trixie (three doubles and the treble).

I’ll be back on Friday with your Weekend Preview.
Enjoy the football…
