  • EFL midweek fixtures…
  • Win & Both Teams to Score contenders…

The quest continues at 66/1…

The midweek football gets underway this evening, and we’ve got a great set of games to look forward to…

European goals…

In the Champions League, it’s match-day 5. With just one round of Group stage matches to come after this week, there are some big evenings in store.

The likes of Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk are looking to avoid elimination tonight.

While reigning champions Bayern Munich can afford to take their foot off the pedal. The German giants are already confirmed as Group A winners, after four victories out of four so far.

For this evening’s trip to Atletico Madrid, Bayern have taken the liberty of leaving no.1 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and top scorer Robert Lewandowski in Germany.

The Champions League 2020/21 formbook says to expect goals in the important games in Group B:

Shakhtar Donetsk v Real Madrid (5.55pm kick off), and Borussia Monchengladbach v Inter Milan (8pm)…

  • Over 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in 6 out of 8 games in Group B. Including a 3-2 for Shakhtar in Madrid, and a 2-2 draw in the first meeting between Inter and M’gladbach

The markets are tilted towards high-goals tallies in those two games. Over 2.5 Goals is 2/5 (1.4) for the Shakhtar v Real Madrid game, and 1/2 (1.5) for M’gladbach v Inter.

In terms of our Outright Winner and Top Goalscorer book in the Champions League, we have the following teams and players running for us at Each Way prices:

Real Madrid @ 12/1 – currently 2nd in Group B
Barcelona @ 14/1 – already qualified from Group G

Romelu Lukaku (Inter Milan) @ 33/1 – 2 goals so far
Raheem Sterling (Man City) @ 20/1 – 1 goal
Duvan Zapata (Atalanta) @ 33/1 – 3 goals

Win & Both Teams to Score contenders…

Moving on to the English Football League (EFL) now, where I’ve been concentrating my research on the Win & Both Teams to Score (Win & BTTS) stats and markets…

Key stats for tonight:

Bournemouth v Preston (Championship, 7.45pm)

  • Bournemouth – Scored In 12 out of 14 games in the Championship (joint-1st for that category on our website). No.1 team in the division for Both Teams to Score payouts. The Cherries are 2nd in the table, unbeaten at home (W5 D2 L0). Win & BTTS has paid out in 4 of Bournemouth’s 7 league wins this season
  • Preston – Scored In 100% of away games (7 out of 7). With Both Teams to Score paying out in 5 of those 7. Preston have lost their last 2 on the road, with the score-lines: 2-1 and 4-1

Bournemouth to Win & Both Teams to Score is 11/4 (3.75).

Bradford v Cheltenham (League Two, 7pm)

  • Bradford – Just 2 Clean Sheets from 13 games so far. Lost 4 of their last 5 in all competitions, including 1-2 and 1-3 defeats at home
  • Cheltenham – Scored In 13 of their 14 games, including 6 out of 6 away (100%). Cheltenham are 2nd in League Two, winning 3 of their last 5 games. Four of their last 6 games have ended with a 2-1 score-line to either team

Cheltenham to Win & Both Teams to Score is 7/2 (4.5).

Grimsby v Exeter (League Two, 7pm)

  • Grimsby – Scored In 3 of 4 home games, but only kept 3 Clean Sheets in 12 league matches overall
  • Exeter – Scored In 12 of 14 league games (86%), but only managed one Clean Sheet in 7 attempts on the road. Exeter are 5th in League Two. Win & BTTS has paid out in 8 of their 11 wins in all comps this season

Exeter to Win & Both Teams to Score is 3/1 (4.0).

Three-pronged attack…

In last Tuesday’s EFL fixtures, we got two out of three over the line, one away from an 87/1 treble…

In the stats above, we’ve identified three Win & BTTS contenders for tonight.

As ever, my advice with these selections is to pick & choose, however you prefer. There’s all manner of combination bets available – singles, doubles, the treble, a Trixie (3 x doubles and a treble).

Looking at today’s targeted games, I’m going for a three-pronged attack on the trebles. My reasoning being, if any one of these delivers, then these three matches will have produced an overall profit for the evening…

Bournemouth, Cheltenham & Exeter:

Match Win treble pays just over 11/2 (6.5+).

Both Teams to Score treble pays just over 9/2 (5.5+).

Win & BTTS treble pays 66/1 with Betfred, 63/1 Bet365, BetVictor, 50/1+ in general.

Today’s picks

From the analysis above, here are my picks for this evening…

Bournemouth v Preston (Championship, 7.45pm)
Bradford v Cheltenham (League Two, 7pm)
Grimsby v Exeter (League Two, 7pm)

  • TREBLE. Match Result: Bournemouth, Cheltenham & Exeter to Win @ 11/2+ (6.5+) Betfred, BetVictor, Betway, William Hill, Boylesports
  • TREBLE. Both Teams to Score: in the 3 games listed above @ 9/2+ (5.5+) with Betfred, BetVictor, Betway, William Hill, Boylesports
  • TREBLE. Win & Both Teams to Score: Bournemouth, Cheltenham & Exeter @ 66/1 with Betfred, 63/1 Bet365, BetVictor, 50/1+ in general

I’ll be back tomorrow with more on the midweek action in the Champions League and EFL.

Enjoy the football…

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
