In Across the Leagues today:
The ‘back the best’ tactic paid off again last night.
La Liga top scorer Luis Suarez bagged two more goals for league leaders Atletico Madrid, in a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo.
If you’re looking to follow the cream of the crop to score again in Europe this evening, then Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo are the main men for Inter Milan v Juventus.
That match is the 2nd leg of their Coppa Italia tie, with Juve 2-1 up after last week’s first innings…
That game was highlighted in our analysis for Over 4.5 Cards, and produced 9 Yellows (90 Booking Points).
The bookies are going a card higher this time, with Over 5.5 Cards at 8/11 (1.73) with Bet365.
I certainly wouldn’t rule out another high-cards encounter, even with Inter’s Mr Angry, Arturo Vidal, suspended for this one.
On Wednesday night, the Under 10.5 Corners stats will be put to the test again on Livingston’s artificial pitch...
Livingston are ranked No.1 in the Scottish Premiership for that low-corners bet this season, with an 81% record.
Visitors Hamilton are also a good match-up, ranked 4th in the division for Under 10.5 Corners, with that option delivering in 4 of their last 5 on the road.
Not many firms are up as I write this morning. Bet365 are 4/5 (1.8) for another Under 10.5 Corners result, though.
You can check out all those Corners stats for yourself and in more detail, on the Scottish Premiership pages on our website:
My main football-viewing activity over the next few days is going to be the FA Cup 5th round…
If you’re following my Outright Winner picks this season, then we have two teams to cheer on in the cup, at Each Way outsider prices:
With a place in the quarter finals up for grabs, the Saints go to Wolves on Thursday. The Blades are at home v Bristol City on Wednesday.
I’ll be doing my main business this week on Friday, in your Weekend Preview email.
Followed by an exciting schedule for us to look forward to this time next week, with the start of the Champions League knockout stage.
There’s one man, match and price that I particularly like in tonight’s fixtures, though. And that’s the in-form Charlie Wyke to score again for Sunderland…
Charlie is having a prolific season up front for the desperate-for-promotion Black Cats.
He’s joint-2nd in the Top Scorer charts in League One. And also tied 2nd in our Anytime Scorer stats, with 11 payouts from 23 appearances.
This evening’s hosts Shrewsbury have only managed to keep 2 Clean Sheets in 11 home games this season. The price for Wyke to score again looks good here.
From the analysis above, here is my pick for today…
Shrewsbury v Sunderland
League One, 7pm
I’ll see you on Friday with my Weekend Preview. And then next week we’ll be on Champions League duty, with some great games to come.
Remember you can hunt out your own bet selections, and view all our League, Team, Player, and Head-2-Head match comparison stats, by logging-in to the website.
Enjoy the football…
