In Across the Leagues today:
I’m back from my trip to see Peter Kay, and now I’ve got Covid (again)...
The Birmingham NEC - AKA the Resorts World Arena - holds 15,000-odd people. Perhaps one of those gave it to me…
Back to the football, and last Thursday’s analysis wasn’t far off finding a tasty 25/1 winning double from the first wave of Euro 2024 Qualifiers…
We flagged up three games for potential 2-0 Correct Scores…
Northern Ireland did the business against San Marino. And North Macedonia almost clicked, too - 2-0 up on Malta, until the visitors pulled one back in the 86th minute.
Those Thursday results:
San Marino 0 Northern Ireland 2
North Macedonia 2 Malta 1
Slovakia 0 Luxembourg 0
San Marino lost their following game at the weekend by the 2-0 score, too (Slovenia 2 San Marino 0)...
Malta were subsequently beaten 2-0 by Italy…
And - Sod’s Law - Slovakia went on to win 2-0 v Bosnia.
Those ‘Win to Nil’ Correct Scores remain a tactic worth considering in these kinds of International fixtures. Read more in last week’s piece here.
Elsewhere over the weekend, in English League Two, our featured Under 2.5 Goals game went to plan. With the low-goals form franked very much by Gillingham’s 1-0 home win against Carlisle…

Our Top Performing Teams table has Gillingham ranked 2nd from all 17 leagues when it comes to Under 2.5 Goals.
In my last email we also discussed a couple of our season-long Each Way bets, with 20/1 Lawrence Shankland and 33/1 Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes in with chances for us in the Scottish Premiership Top Goalscorer market.
In English League One, we’re on Sam Nombe at a top-price 80/1 Each Way from back in August…
The Exeter City forward has been in the goals lately, scoring three across his last three games - including one in a 5-0 home win v Accrington on Saturday. Before that, Sam bagged both goals in a 2-1 win against Lincoln.
The Grecians are at home again this evening, taking on high-flying Barnsley (7.45pm)…
Exeter have won their last three home games. Barnsley have won four in a row overall, eight of their last nine, and are unbeaten in 12. Could be a good game…
In the League One Top Goalscorer standings, with 14 strikes to his name, our man Sam Nombe is just two goals off the Each Way places as it stands (1/4 odds 1-4 places). He’s certainly in with a shout…
That’s all from me for today. I’ll be back ahead of the weekend with stacks of standout stats for you, as we prepare for the return of the Premier League…
With Manchester City v Liverpool the big TV game on Saturday lunchtime, there could be a big-odds Bet Builder brewing for us…
