In Across the Leagues today:
We were one away from a winning acca last time out in Europe. Here are our predictions and picks for today’s games…
Here are Tuesday’s predictions from myself and my Across the Leagues colleague Shaun. Along with the top-rated scores from the Official UEFA Champions League Predictor game:

Matching up for these Match Result and Goals selections:
RB Salzburg v Chelsea – Chelsea to win
Celtic v Shakhtar Donetsk – Both Teams to Score
RB Leipzig v Real Madrid – Real Madrid to win
Sevilla v FC Copenhagen – Under 2.5 Goals
Borussia Dortmund v Man City – Both Teams to Score
PSG v Maccabi Haifa – PSG to win
Back on 29th July, our first pre-season picks of 2022/23 comprised of three Top Goalscorer bets…
Danny Hylton has been a bit of a flop at Northampton in League Two, jeered by his own fans according to a couple of my relatives that frequent the home stands at Sixfields. He was sent off on Saturday.
But in the Scottish Premiership, Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland is doing well as a non-Old Firm outsider – he bagged a hat-trick last weekend, including a couple of penalties. Shankland is joint-3rd in the Scots Prem scorer table now, occupying a share of one of the Each Way places.
And in the Championship, our man Teemu Pukki has found his scoring boots again, after a slow start by his standards…
Pukki went in the book as an ante-post selection at 8/1, Each Way. With bookies offering 1/4 odds for 1-4 places. That price can still be obtained at Bet365 and Skybet today. After bagging a brace over the weekend, the Norwich striker is now just two goals off the top of a packed-looking Championship top scorer table. Including his Canaries teammate Josh Sargent, who is joint-top with eight goals.
For this evening’s trip to fellow promotion contenders Burnley, Pukki can be backed at 9/4 (3.25) to score Anytime. In my opinion, that is a good price for a forward of his calibre, at this level.

I also like the Anytime Scorer prices for two of our other 2022/23 Top Goalscorer picks this evening…
Exeter’s Sam Nombe – in the book at 80/1 Each Way in August – has started his side’s last six games in League One, and scored in four of them. A burst of form that has propelled the young attacker to just one goal outside of the top four, Each Way places in the season-to-date standings. Sam is 11/4 (3.75) to find the net at Derby tonight.
Also in League One, we have Oxford Utd’s penalty-taking midfielder Cameron Brannagan. Backed at 50/1 & 33/1 Each Way in September , Cameron has five league goals so far, putting him just outside the four EW positions.
Oxford go to promotion-chasing Portsmouth tonight. Pompey are five home games without a clean sheet. Brannagan’s on free kicks and penalties for the U’s. And with striker Matty Taylor suspended for the visitors, Cameron’s magic from midfield could be relied upon once again. Odds of 4/1 (5.0) and 7/2 (4.5) appeal.
Champions League – 5.45pm and 8pm kick-offs, BT Sport
Burnley v Norwich – Championship, 8pm Sky Sports
Derby County v Exeter – League One, 7.45pm
Portsmouth v Oxford Utd – League One, 7.45pm
I’ll be back tomorrow with more stats and selections for you. There are some juicy games on Wednesday’s Champions League Matchday 5 list, including Ajax v Liverpool and Barcelona v Bayern Munich...
Enjoy the football…
Best wishes,
