In Across the Leagues today:
As the United Kingdom begins a period of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II, the weekend Premier League, English Football League, and Scottish Premiership fixtures have all been postponed as a mark of respect.
We are told that updates will follow ‘in due course’ as to whether next weekend’s games will take place.
With the pace of the modern-day fixture list, including midweek Champions League, Europa League & Conference League commitments, and a winter World Cup to squeeze in this season. It’s hard to see the schedule being pushed back too much. That’s for the people in suits to sort out, though.
As for your Across the Leagues coverage, you can expect to hear from me in detail next week as we look to Matchday 2 in the Champions League on Tuesday and Wednesday.
For this weekend, I thought I’d use today’s Weekend Preview slot to remind you that over on your members-only Across the Leagues website, we have bet-specific stats for 17 leagues in total. Including the top European leagues such as the Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, and Italian Serie A – all of which continue this weekend…

I’m focusing on Germany this weekend, with the Bundesliga a long-time source of high-scoring entertainment…
Following the Sod’s Law/ next-time-out ‘habit’ that I mentioned a few times last season, it’s worth keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrick Schick. The Czech forward drew a blank for us in the Champions League in midweek, but he was last season’s 2nd-top Bundesliga scorer, and opened his 2022/23 league account last weekend. Schick is around 5/6 (1.83) in general to score Anytime at Hertha Berlin this Saturday, which is shorter than the price we took on him in midweek. Although Bet365 are odds-against, with an industry-best 8/5 (2.6).
For some bigger-odds prizes, we’re taking this week’s Win & Both Teams to Score (Win & BTTS) combo attempt to the German top-flight…
With the latest stats and form to hand, and keeping recent head-to-head meetings in mind, too. Here are my three Win & BTTS nominations for this weekend. Splitting a stake four ways across a Trixie, which is made up of three doubles and a treble.
Saturday 2.30pm:
Sunday 2.30pm – Sky Sports:
As well as the Win & Both Teams to Score Trixie which includes a 100/1 treble. I also like these three games as Both Teams to Score picks – with that treble worth 3/1.
German Bundesliga:
I’ll be back on Tuesday, ready for Champions League Matchday 2.
Enjoy the football…
Best wishes,
