In Across the Leagues EXTRA today:
The crammed-in 2020/21 schedule is taking its toll on the Premier League.
Just look at these goal-shy score-lines from the last two evenings…
Liverpool 0 Chelsea 1
Fulham 0 Tottenham 1
West Brom 0 Everton 1
Crystal Palace 0 Man Utd 0
Burnley 1 Leicester 1
Sheff Utd 1 Aston Villa 0
Those half a dozen Under 2.5 Goals results contribute to this overall tally in the past week:
The fixtures aren’t slowing down. There’s another full Premier League programme this weekend. And low goals is the overriding theme in our Predictions table (see below)…
I’ve gone for 7 out of 10 games to go Under 2.5 Goals. My colleague Shaun has named 8.
And Mark Lawrenson at the BBC is going for the full house – with all 10 of his score predictions featuring 2 or less goals…
If you agree with Lawro, an acca on all 10 games to go Under 2.5 Goals pays 672/1 with BetVictor. That would certainly make the bore-draws a bit more exciting.
Man City v Man Utd is the big game on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm, Sky Sports).
City have won 21 games in a row in all competitions. United have just played out three consecutive 0-0 draws.
Of course, there’s always the danger than runaway league leaders Man City can turn on the style and score a hatful. Since the start of February, Pep’s men have won 4-1 at Liverpool, and 4-1 v Wolves, beaten Tottenham 3-0, and won 3-1 at Everton. I’ve gone for 4-1 City…

Here are our predictions for this weekend, along with Mark Lawrenson at the BBC:
When our Match Result predictions match up, my colleague Shaun & I roll these picks into an accumulator.
This weekend we have the same opinion on 3 of the 10 games:
The treble pays 4/1 with Marathonbet.
In the midweek games, my, Shaun (and Lawro’s) predictions all matched up for 4 games to go Under 2.5 Goals, paying out at 11/1.
In the Under/ Over 2.5 Total Goals department this weekend, there are 5 matches where we’re all saying low goals:
The 5-fold acca pays 24/1 with Marathonbet.
On the Correct Scores, Shaun & I have a matching prediction for Chelsea v Everton.
Since Thomas Tuchel took over, Under 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in 9 of 10 Chelsea games in all comps, with 4 x 1-0 wins…
We’ll be back next week with more stats and predictions.
Enjoy the football…
