Man City slump continues...

It was a bad weekend for favourite backers with the top two sides in the Premier League both failing to win at short prices...

Man City were just 9/20 (1.45) to win at Burnley – and lost 1-0. While league leaders Chelsea went off as odds-on favourites, at 8/13 (1.62) to beat Southampton – final score 1-1.

Our approach is to ignore the bad value, short price favourites like those. And instead use our stats and analysis to identify the top-rated bets in a range of betting markets, and the best value prices available.

Our 5 Picks didn’t produce a profit this week, but taking Man City as an example demonstrates our long-term approach:

  • Man City have now won just 3 of their last 11 games in all comps – yet start the cast majority of their games as odds-on favourites to win
  • In contrast, Man City have landed Team with Most Bookings bets in 6 of their last 7 Premier League away games – a bet that is available at odds-against prices on almost every occasion

We will continue to identify and back the highly-rated bets that are available at value prices.

No-shows from QPR and Spurs

Two players that made our Value Picks list weren’t helped out by their teams this weekend. Charlie Austin was a standout 9/4 (3.25) to score at Palace but his QPR side were well beaten from very early on, 3-0 down at Half Time and eventually losing 3-1.

Elsewhere 2/1 Harry Kane didn’t get a sniff of goal at Old Trafford as his Tottenham side put up a meek performance in a 3-0 defeat to Man Utd.

Weekend results:

Stats Picks:

Crystal Palace v QPR – Both Teams to Score @ Evens – WON (Result: 3-1)
Burnley v Man City – Man City 0 Card Handicap @ 13/10 – LOST (Cards = 2-1)

Value Picks:

Crystal Palace v QPR – Anytime Scorer- Charlie Austin @ 9/4 – LOST
West Brom v Stoke – Stoke to win @ 5/2 – LOST (1-0)
Man Utd v Tottenham – Anytime Scorer – Harry Kane @ 2/1 – LOST

Three top trends to follow

On a positive note there continues to be many winning streaks, highly-rated stats and consistent trends for us to target in the Premier League.

Three of the four trends – that didn’t make the cut for our Picks based on price – continued again this weekend. We’ll keep these on our radar for the games ahead:

After their 1-1 draw at the weekend...

  • Under 2.5 Goals bets have now paid out in 8 of Chelsea’s last 9 Home games
  • Under 2.5 Goals bets have now paid out in 10 of Southampton’s last 11 Premier League games

After a 3-0 win over West Ham...

  • Arsenal have now won 8 Home games in a row
  • Bets on Arsenal to be winning at Half Time and Full Time have paid out 7 times in a row at Home

And after Man Utd’s 3-0 win on Sunday...

  • Over 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in 73% of Man Utd Home games
  • Over 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in each of Tottenham’s last 10 Premier League games

There are 91 games to go before the end of the season and plenty of opportunities to cash-in...

Coming up this week - Liverpool v Man Utd...

The action continues this weekend with a full schedule of games, with the highlight set to be Liverpool v Man Utd.

I’ll be back with the stats you need to know and our latest Premier League Picks in your weekend email on Friday afternoon.

Until then,

Best wishes,
