Just one week to go...

The Premier League 2015/16 season kicks off next weekend – and I can’t wait...

The team and I have been hard at work getting ready for the new season. Here at Prem10 we have plenty in store for you in 2015/16, and it all starts next week.

Over the last fortnight I’ve sent you:

  • Your Premier League Team-by-Team guide – the most profitable stats, bets and trends from last season, for EVERY team – with some early ideas for how we can cash-in on the new season. View Part One here and Part Two here

And next Friday, on the eve of the big kick off, I’ll be emailing you with a Special report:

  • Your Prem10 pre-season bets – our highly-rated Stats Picks and big-price Value Picks for the 2015/16 season-long markets. Including: who do the stats say we should back to win the Premier League, finish in the Top 10 – or get relegated? And who is the best value in the Top Scorer market? Plus – how to cash-in on ‘Specials’ markets such as Top Team Scorer, Top Newly-Promoted Club and Team with Most Yellow Cards...

Alongside that pre-season betting advice, our web developers are busy updating your members-only Prem10 website for the first round of games. Including full data for the whole of last season in summary, plus...

  • We’re adding more stats, more betting markets & more team data to the Head-2-Head and Team pages for the NEW season than ever before
  • PLUS – several brand new features that will help give you the edge over the bookies and the market this season. Including a Referees page, and a brand new tool that will allow you to find out which bets pay out most often in the Premier League

Exciting times ahead. And we get our first look at two Premier League teams this weekend, in the Community Shield at Wembley...

Community Shield Preview – Chelsea v Arsenal...

Match Odds: Chelsea 6/4 (2.50)    Draw 5/2 (3.50)       Arsenal 15/8 (2.88)

To Lift the Trophy: Chelsea 4/5 (1.80)     Arsenal 11/10 (2.10)

We are of course contracted obliged to call this match the ‘traditional curtain raiser’ to the football season – Premier League champions Chelsea taking on FA Cup winners Arsenal at Wembley...

If you’re looking for a steer on the best betting opportunities for the game this weekend, then you should find something of interest in the stats below...

Let’s take a look at a couple of Community Shield trends, and the key form patterns when Chelsea and Arsenal have met in the last couple of seasons:

Community Shield – standout stats...

  • Over 2.5 Goals bets paid out in 7 of the last 10 Community Shield games (90 Minutes Normal Time)
  • 7 of the last 10 have been settled in Normal Time. Three have been a Draw and settled on Penalties (there is no Extra Time anymore)
  • Chelsea have featured in 6 of the last 10 Community Shield games, but have won just 2 – and only won one in Normal Time
  • Arsenal have taken part in 2 of the last 10 – won 1 lost 1

Chelsea v Arsenal – standout stats...

  • Arsenal haven’t beaten Chelsea in any of their last 8 meetings in all comps
  • Arsenal haven’t scored in any of their last 5 games v Chelsea in all comps
  • Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has never lost against an Arsene Wenger team
  • Under 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in 4 of the last 5 meetings between Chelsea and Arsenal over the last two seasons

Verdict:

This looks one to watch and enjoy rather than have any serious bets on – remember, it’s little more than a glorified Friendly. Having said that we can expect both teams to treat the game with respect and a competitive match should be in store. It’s hard to look beyond Chelsea in the Match Result markets – they don’t have the best of records in the Shield but that’s countered by a superb unbeaten run v Arsenal....

If you’re planning on backing Chelsea then you might want to get yourself a Betfair account... they are offering a greatly enhanced 7/1 on Chelsea to win.

Arsenal followers are catered for, too – with odds of 9/1 on offer as part of Betfair’s Community Shield special offer...

  • Check out that Betfair offer and the T’s & C’s here

I’ll be back next Friday when we’ll be getting down to the real business, with our Premier League 2015/16 Bets Report...

Until then,

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
