A busy week ahead in the Premier League with a double-header of midweek and weekend games – starting tonight…
Two markets catch the eye for this evening’s fixtures, with the bookies’ First Goal Time and Corner Handicap lines looking a bit of value for us at West Ham and Norwich respectively.
Having studied all the prices and markets, here’s my opinion of the best betting value this weekend...
There are stacks of highly-rated stats and bets in the Premier League – but we don’t always get the chance to back them at a value price...
- For example, Arsenal v Southampton is a ‘top v bottom’ match-up on our Most Booking Points stats – but Southampton are prohibitive odds-on at 1/2 (1.50) at best to win the Most Cards/ Bookings. We can get better value elsewhere…

West Ham v Aston Villa (TV) – Time of First Goal
- First Goal Time in West Ham’s last 5 games has been (most recent first): 1, 6, 17, 10 and 13 mins
- Time of First Goal – 27th Minute or Before bets have paid out in 9 out of 11 West Ham Home games (82%)
- Villa haven’t kept a Clean Sheet in 6 visits to Top Half teams this season
West Ham are our top-rated team for ‘early goals’ bets – and Paddy Power’s Time of First Goal line looks a little generous here...
A standard First Goal Time line is Under/ Over 27 Minutes, which is the number we use for the Goal Time stats on our site. When we see a bookie offering a higher than normal line about a team with a fantastic ‘early goal’ record – like West Ham – then the value could well be on our side.

In each of those games Spurs covered a -1 Corner Handicap with ease.
