One-nil to the Foxes…

Leicester City’s incredible season continued yesterday with yet another 1-0 win…

The 1-0 Leicester Correct Score has now paid out in 4 of The Foxes’ last 5 games.

It’s a shame we don’t see much better than the standard 5/1 (6.00) or 6/1 (7.00) for that bet. Leicester’s stats certainly put the Correct Score market on my radar, but it’s hard to say there’s much value in those particular prices on any given weekend. That said the narrow 1-goal Winning Margin is something we might be able to cash-in on at a decent price in the weeks ahead.

Leicester were bottom of the Premier League this time last year. They are now 7 pts clear at the top and short odds-on for the title at 4/11 (1.36), having been 5,000/1 outsiders at the start of the season. Incredible stuff.

The Foxes will be on TV again this coming Sunday, away at Sunderland. I’ll be looking at the stats & prices for that game in my research for your Friday Weekend Picks email.

Friendly fire from the Gunners…

As for our Pickslast weekend it was a case of one winner and one loser. Arsenal and Watford lived up to their recent ‘low Cards’ form with just 2 Yellow Cards (20 Booking Points) in the game.

As I said on Friday I was expecting to see an Under 2.5 Cards line from the bookies there, so we got a bit of value by successfully backing Under 3.5 Cards @ 5/6 (1.83).

Arsenal’s 4-0 win also franked the suggestion that Watford, safe from relegation, may now be concentrating on their FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley at the end of the month.

  • Under 3.5 Cards bets have now paid out in 5 of Watford’s last 6 Away games
  • Arsenal and Watford remain joint-2nd on the ‘League Stats – Cards & Booking Points’ chart on our site for Under 3.5 Cards bets this season

There was no joy from our bigger priced Pick at the weekend though with 11/5 (3.20) Anytime Scorer selection Jermain Defoe failing to find the net. He had plenty of chances though and remains Sunderland’s most dangerous goal threat by a mile (Sunderland 0 West Brom 0).

Coming up this week…

I’ll be back on Wednesday with your latest Spotlight feature – looking at some of the key stats & betting trends in the Premier League, with the latest results and next fixtures in mind…

Followed by your Weekend Picks email on Friday, when once again I’ll be hunting out the best value prices from the weekend markets.

Until then,

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
