Champions Chelsea leaking goals...

It’s been a terrible start to the season for reigning Premier League champions Chelsea, who lost 3-1 at Everton on Saturday...

Chelsea have now conceded 2 or more goals in each of their 5 games. That’s a shocking turnaround from last season’s best-performing ‘Clean Sheet’ defence. And the Blues have already conceded more goals this season than they did in the entire season when Jose Mourinho first took charge at Stamford Bridge.

  • Over 2.5 Goals bets have now paid out in 5 out of 5 Chelsea games. That’s a trend we’ll keep in mind in the weeks ahead

In terms of our weekend bet selections we came away empty handed from our Picks. It’s still early days in the 2015/16 season – so far 4 of our 10 Stats Pickshave won. I will of course be looking to improve that tally fast.

Last week’s standout stats didn’t provide us with any continuing trends. But we have 33 weeks of the 38-game season to look ahead to. And with the latest round of Euro 2016 Qualifiers out the way we have three back-to-back weeks of Premier League action to look forward to right now.

What the stats say after Week Five...

The first four weeks of the season saw an abnormally low number of Home Wins in the Premier League – just 9 out of 40. That figure picked up a little at the weekend with 6 Home teams out of 9 winning. That’s still only 30% for the season though.

Here at Prem10 our approach is to target a wide range of markets beyond the standard Win-Draw-Lose options – with Goals, Corners, Cards & Booking Points stats all available on our website, and the latest trends and opportunities highlighted in your weekly emails.

Here’s an update on the three stats that we bet on last week.

Man Utd 3 Liverpool 1 – Total Cards

This was a disappointing match, lacking the usual intensity of a Man Utd v Liverpool clash. For the first time this season Liverpool – and Referee, Michael Oliver – failed to rack up a 5+ Cards total. There were just 3 Yellow Cards shown (30 Booking Points).

Stats Pick:

  • Asian Total Cards – Over 5 @ 3/4 – LOST

Sunderland 0 Tottenham 1 – Both Teams to Score/ Total Corners

This would have been a different story had ex-Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe take his chance when through on goal in the first half. As it was only one side found the net, with Sunderland failing to score for the first time this season – and Spurs keeping what was only their 5th Clean Sheet in 22 Premier League games this calendar year.

Spurs also had a 100% Under 10.5 Corners trend going into this one, but that run came to an abrubt end with the game producing a high 14 Corners.

Stats Picks:

  • Both Teams to Score @ 87/100 – LOST
  • Under 10.5 Corners @ 9/10 – LOST

Coming up this week…

I’ll be back on Friday with your Weekend Preview email and my betting Picks – including all the key standout stats and markets for the weekend games. There are a couple of big games taking place, with Chelsea v Arsenal in particular promising to be a cracker.

And before that – lookout for an extra email from me tonight...

Don’t miss the Champions League kick off

The 2015/16 Champions League kicks off tomorrow – and I’ll be in touch this evening with details of how you can cash-in on the biggest club competition in European football...

I’m launching a brand new, dedicated Champions League service. The new website is going live tonight – including a unique stats feature that tells you which bets pay out most often on all the big guns: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich...

PLUS – we’ll be kicking off the new campaign with a Special Report on Tuesday containing the best betting value across the Outright Winner, Top Scorer and Group Winner markets.

  • Along with weekly stats bets on the markets that bookies don’t want you to know about. Showing you – for example – how backing Bayern Munich to win the Most Corners can make you more money than backing them to win the game...

Keep an eye on your emails this evening. The first games are tomorrow.

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
