Much of our analysis last week focused on Scorers, and we managed to successfully latch on to two players in our Weekend Picks...
Ighalo and Lukaku score again...
Romelu Lukaku @ 6/4 (2.50) and Odion Ighalo @ 2/1 (3.00) were both Anytime Scorer winners for those of you following my Friday Stats Picks.
In fact both players also produced First Scorer payouts in their respective games, too.
- Norwich 1 Everton 1: Lukaku has now scored in 7 games in a row for Everton – 6 in a row in the Premier League
- Sunderland 0 Watford 1: Ighalo has now scored 10 of Watford’s 18 goals (56%) – the highest ‘percentage of team goals’ ratio in the Premier League
It was a good weekend all round for our picks, with Liverpool v West Brom – Under 2.5 Goals the only trend that we followed that failed to come in (2-2). That was the first time all season, in 8 Away games, that West Brom have scored more than 1 goal.
Man City prove value at 7/2...
The stats also told us that on paper there was no reason why Man City should be a 3/1+ (4.00+) shot to get the Most Cards/ Booking Points against Swansea...
The standout prices we took for our Value Pick on Man City 0 Card Handicap @ 7/2 (4.50) or Most Cards @ 16/5 (4.20) were indeed proved to be good value. Man City received 3 Yellow Cards (30 pts) to just the 1 Yellow (10 pts) for Swansea.
- Man City 2 Swansea 1: Man City have now received the Most Cards/ Bookings in 4 of their last 6 Home games. While opponents have landed that bet in 7 of Swansea’s 8 Away games
What the stats say after Week 16…
The aim of our Picks is to target the best value prices available about the week’s standout stats – and it was a good weekend for us on that front.
Let’s take a look at some of the other stats and trends on the radar...
- Tottenham 1 Newcastle 2 (Corners = 6-2): Tottenham remain our top-ranked team for Most Corners bets – paying out in 13 out of 16 games (81%)
- West Ham 0 Stoke 0 (Corners = 11-7): West Ham have now won the Most Corners in 6 out of 8 Home games (75%) – while Stoke have won the most in just 1 of 9 Away games (11%)
- Aston Villa 0 Arsenal 2: Aston Villa haven’t won since the first day of the season – that’s a 15-game run without a win
- Aston Villa 0 Arsenal 2: Olivier Giroud has landed First Scorer payouts in 5 of Arsenal’s last 10 games in all comps – producing 15 pts profit for a 150% ROI if backed to level stakes at odds of 4/1
- Norwich 1 Everton 1: Both Teams to Score bets have paid out in 6 out of 8 Norwich Home games (75%) – and Norwich have the worst Clean Sheet record in the Premier League, with just 1 ‘shutout’ from 16 games
