In your Prem10 – Midweek Picks email today:
- Saints and sinners...
- Things get serious now...
- Next email tomorrow...
There’s a huge week coming up in the Premier League, with two full rounds of games across Tuesday & Wednesday and the upcoming weekend. First up though, a quick look back at last week’s numbers...
Saints and sinners...
Southampton looked a good price for the Most Cards v Chelsea on Saturday, and so it proved with the Saints picking up 3 Yellow Cards to Chelsea’s 1...
Ronald Koeman’s side remain our top-rated team for Most Cards/ Most Booking Points bets this season, landing that bet in 63% of games. For the Chelsea game we got odds of 13/10 (2.30) for that Southampton bet, a price that in basic terms gave the Saints just a 43% chance.
We got a bit of value there and I’ll be looking for more opportunities like that with our Picks this week and beyond.
Starting tomorrow – things get serious...
Once the midweek games have been played, most teams will have 10 games left in the Premier League campaign. The title race gets serious now...
Leicester are 2/1 (3.00) for the title after their late 1-0 win over Norwich. Just the one goal wasn’t enough to land our Weekend Specials pick on Leicester being the Highest Scoring Team on the weekend coupon (@ 4/1) – that accolade was shared between, of all people, 16/1 Man Utd and 16/1 West Brom in a Dead Heat with 3 goals apiece.
- Next up for Leicester – at Home to West Brom tomorrow night, then Away at Watford on Saturday...
Tottenham are 2 pts behind The Foxes and a 9/4 (3.25) chance for the title. Spurs had a big result on Sunday, coming from behind to beat Swansea 2-1.
It would have worked out better for our Tottenham -3 Corner Handicap pick if it had stayed at 0-1 or 1-1 a little longer... Spurs went 7-4 up on the Corners when going for the winning goal, but didn’t win another corner after going 2-1 in front (final corners score 7-7). Tottenham remain the top-rated Most Corners team in the Premier League, though (74%).
- Next up for Tottenham – Away at West Ham on Wednesday, then at Home to Arsenal on Saturday. Big games...
Elsewhere in the title race betting we have the more familiar names behind frontrunners Leicester and Tottenham: Arsenal at 11/4 (3.75) and Man City at 6/1 (7.00).
We’re all set for what should be a thrilling title race run-in across March, Easter and the Spring...
I’ll be back tomorrow with the standout stats & my value analysis for the midweek games. Lookout for your email by 2.00pm Tuesday.
Until then,
Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
