More thrills and spills…

The 2015/16 Premier League season continues to throw up shocks and surprises…

Last weekend Man City were beaten 4-1 at Tottenham, while champions Chelsea had to come from two goals down just to get a 2-2 draw at Newcastle.

On the stats front we landed just one of our three Stats Pick selections, with some frustrating Yellow Cards for Everton taking down our recommended bet on West Brom to receive the Most Cards. One Everton booking was for a dive; another was for ‘over-celebrating’ a goal by displaying a t-shirt with a Happy Birthday message on it. A two-footed tackle would’ve been easier to take.

What the stats say after Week Seven…

Here’s a recap of some of the standout stats that featured in our Weekend Preview email on Friday, and the latest trends/ results in the Premier League:

Tottenham 4 Man City 1 – Most Corners/ Corner Handicap:

Tottenham had won the Most Corners in 6 out of 6 games going into this, but once City were behind on the score-board they racked up plenty of corners of their own here. Corners = Tottenham 5 City 9.

Stats Pick:

  • Tottenham +1 Corner Handicap @ 20/21 – LOST

Man Utd 3 Sunderland 0 – Team with Most Bookings:

We’ve avoided this bet this weekend because Sunderland were short odds-on at 1/2 (1.50). The stats were proved correct with Sunderland collecting 3 Yellow Cards (30 Booking Pts) to zero for Man Utd. That Most Cards/ Bookings bet has now paid out in 5 out of 7 Sunderland games, while Man Utd haven’t received the Most Cards/ Bookings in any games in all comps so far this season. One to watch.

Watford 0 Crystal Palace 1 – Time of First Goal/ Half Time Result:

This was 0-0 at Half Time – for the 6th Palace game in a row in all competitions. Time of First Goal – After 27th Minute bets have now also paid out in 6 out of 7 Palace league games this season. A couple of strong trends there, and we managed to latch onto one of them with a winner.

Stats Pick:

  • Half Time Draw @ 11/10 – WON

West Brom 2 Everton 3 – Team with Most Bookings:

A topsy-turvy game on Monday night with Everton coming from 2-0 down to win. As alluded to above, the Cards score was level until Everton picked up a couple of silly bookings. Result: West Brom 0 Cards (0 pts) Everton 3 Cards (30 pts).

Stats Pick:

  • West Brom 0 Card Handicap @ 13/10 – LOST

Coming up this week…

A mouth-watering weekend in store with a proper Super Sunday to look forward to – Everton v Liverpool and Arsenal v Man Utd on Sky Sports, back to back.

Your Prem10 Weekend Preview email will be with you by 2pm on Friday, identifying the standout stats and betting opportunities from across the weekend games.

Until then,

Best wishes,
