Jamie Vardy’s having a party…

Here at Prem10, we love stats. I can’t get enough of them. And football stats don’t get much more impressive than Jamie Vardy’s amazing scoring run…

The Leicester striker found the net again for Leicester at the weekend, scoring for a record 11th consecutive Premier League game.

Well done to Jamie. Fantastic stuff.

What the stats say after Week 14…

From a betting point of view, Vardy unsurprisingly remains our top-rated player for Anytime Scorer and First Scorer bets this season. He landed payouts in both those markets again at the weekend.

If you took advantage of Ladbrokes’ enhanced price of 4/1 (5.00) for Vardy to score against Man Utd, you’ll have got yourself a nice bit of value there. He was 6/4 (2.50) in the standard markets.

In terms of the stats that featured in our Weekend Picksemail on Friday – where we’re specifically looking for the best value prices available about the week’s standout stats – that Vardy offer was the only source of profit.

My three Picks all failed to hit the mark, despite our analysis putting us in the right ballpark…

Sunderland 2 Stoke 0 – this was 0-0 until Stoke had a man Sent Off in the second half, putting pay to the chances of Stoke landing a fifth 1-0 Correct Score payout of the season, which was my big-price weekend Value Pick at odds of 7/1 (8.00).

And in our two Stats Picks:

Man City 3 Southampton 1 – I managed to pick the correct score-line in this one in my Predictor Mini League, but the Corners stats went slightly off. Man City won the Most Corners for the 7th time in 8 Home games this season, but failed to cover my -3 Corner Handicap choice for the first time.

Norwich 1 Arsenal 1 – in Friday’s email I highlighted that the Time of First Goal – After 24th Minute looked a generously low Goal Time marker, but went instead for the equally highly-rated Second Half – Highest Scoring Half at a similar Even Money (2.00) price.

As it turned out, the First Goal Time option would have won (30 mins), while the First Half was the Highest Scoring Half for the first time in 5 Norwich games. It was one of those weekends.

Onwards and upwards – here are some of the top trends that continued at the weekend…

We’ll be looking to cash-in on trends like these as and when the price suits in the games and weeks ahead…

  • Both Teams to Score bets have paid out in 12 out of 14 Leicester games (86%)

  • Under 10.5 Corners bets have paid out in 12 out of 14 Man Utd games (86%)

  • Bournemouth have won the Most Corners in 8 of their last 9 games

  • Over 3.5 Cards bets have paid out in 7 Chelsea games in a row

  • Villa are without a win in 13 league games… while Tottenham are unbeaten in 13 league games

Plenty of high numbers there and that’s just a taster of the stats and bets that we’ll be looking at in Wednesday’s Spotlight email and of course this Friday’s Weekend Picks.

I’ll be back then with more analysis of the stats, as we go in search of finding the winners once again.

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
