WEEKEND STATS REVIEW

A mixed bag at the weekend – two losing Picks from me, but three out of three winning trends if you followed the Top-Rated Match-Ups from Friday’s email.

I went for Tottenham to beat a -4 Corner Handicap against Watford. But the fact that Spurs were 3 goals up at half time meant the corner tally was likely to suffer...

Tottenham ended up winning the game 4-0, and winning the corner count, 7-5 – keeping Spurs 2nd in the Premier League rankings on our website for Most Corners bets, with their home Most Corners strike-rate now at 75%.

The Most Corners option was short odds-on at just 1/20 (1.05). I went for the bigger price of 23/20 (2.15) for the -4 Corner Handicap, but Spurs fell 3 corners short of covering that.

My other selection was for Over 2.5 Goals for West Ham v Swansea. That option had paid out in 9 of the Hammers’ previous 10 games, but there was just one goal at the London Stadium this time (West Ham 1 Swansea 0).

Plenty of other highly-rated stats trends continued at the weekend though...

Top trends from Across the Leagues...

Current ‘winning streaks’ include the three Top-Rated Match-Ups that we looked at on Friday:

  • Oldham 2 Fleetwood 0 – Under 2.5 Goals bets have now paid out in 10 of Fleetwood’s last 11 away games. And Oldham remain our 1st place side in League One for Under 2.5 Goals, with an 81% home record
  • Burton 1 Aston Villa 1 – Another strong Under 2.5 Goals trend continued here. Villa are the top-rated Championship team for that bet (81% away record), and each of their last 10 games have now seen 2 goals or less
  • Exeter 0 Newport County 1 – Newport’s ‘winning streak’ now stands at an eye-catching 12 away games in a row for Most Booking Points payouts. They got 2 Yellow Cards (20 pts) here, compared to zero for Exeter. Newport are clear at the top of our League Two table for that bet, including 19 out of 21 away payouts (90%)

Elsewhere in the updated stats on our site

  • Bournemouth 1 Chelsea 3 – Both Teams to Score bets have now paid out in each of Chelsea’s last 9 Premier League games
  • Man City 3 Hull 1 – Man City won the corner count here, 7-3. City have now won the Most Corners in each of their last 5 home games, and in 10 of their last 11 Premier League games overall (ranked 1st for the season, 81%)
  • Gillingham 1 Millwall 1 – Gillingham stay top of our League One chart for Both Teams to Score, with their overall season record stretching to 76% – including 14 payouts from their last 16 games

Champions League tomorrow...

We have a great week of football coming up. The Champions League quarter finals get underway tomorrow, with the 1st Leg schedule looking like this:

Tuesday:

Borussia Dortmund v Monaco
Juventus v Barcelona

Wednesday:

Atletico Madrid v Leicester
Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

Some mouth-watering fixtures there...

All those games are live on BT Sport, 7.45pm kick offs.

I’ll be looking at the standout Champions League stats and prices in your Midweek Picks & Analysis email tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday).

Then we have a tasty Easter Bank Holiday weekend of Premier League & Football League action to look forward to. That gets underway on Good Friday, so I’ll be in touch on Thursday – a day earlier than usual – with your Weekend Picks & Analysis.

See you tomorrow...

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
