Welcome to your Across the Leagues Weekend Stats Review...
It’s Monday – and that means it’s time to look at some of the latest stats & trends showing on our website...
- Full tables displaying the top-ranked teams and bets in each division are on the League Stats pages on our site
10 out of 11 for Palace...
It was a good weekend for my Picks, with three out of four winning selections. In the Premier League, Swansea and Crystal Palace landed Both Teams to Score in spectacular style – Swansea 5 Crystal Palace 4.
The crazy 5-4 score-line keeps Palace joint-top of our Premier League table for Both Teams to Score (see below), with a 77% overall record including 6 payouts from 7 away games (86%).
And that result takes Palace’s run to 10 Both Teams to Score payouts from their last 11 league games. It was also their 6th successive defeat.
And Palace are now the only team in the entire Premier League & Football League yet to keep a Clean Sheet (none in 13 games). Until the weekend they were sharing that unwanted ‘no Clean Sheets all season’ accolade with Gillingham, but a 3-0 win on Saturday gave the League One side their very first Clean Sheet (one in 20 games).
Elsewhere with my Picks...
West Brom failed to make it 6 away ‘Most Cards’ games in a row (Hull 1 West Brom 1 – Hull 3 Yellow Cards, West Brom 2 Yellow Cards). But the Goals stats pointed the way to two more winners...
Millwall won 3-2 at Bury to land the Both Teams to Score bet for the 9th time in 10 League One away games.
And the highlight of the weekend in terms of price was Doncaster Rovers’ 3-1 win over Leyton Orient – bringing home the ‘Win & Both Teams to Score’ bet for the 5th time in their last 6 wins, and at healthy odds of 11/4 (3.75).
As I said on Friday, that 11/4 price gave a significant boost on the standard Match Result odds of 17/20 (1.85) for Doncaster.
- For the season overall, my Picks are showing an 18% ROI to level stakes
Stay away from Home Wins...
Over the weekend there was yet more evidence of why it pays to look beyond the generic ‘Home Win’ coupon...
The unique betting stats on our site highlight trends for every team in the Premier League & Football League, across over 30 markets and range of areas including Goals, Corners and Cards.
Those ‘alternative’ betting options frequently prove both more reliable and more profitable than the short price Home Wins that bookies like to steer you towards...
Take this weekend for example:
- In the Premier League, Man Utd were 1/3 (1.33) for the Home Win v West Ham... but only drew 1-1
- In the Championship, leaders Newcastle were also 1/3 (1.33) for the Home Win... but lost 1-0 to Blackburn
- While in League One, 1st place Scunthorpe failed to land the odds-on Home Win @ 9/10 (1.90)... only managing a 1-1 draw v Oxford Utd
- And in League Two, big name side Portsmouth were 1/2 (1.50) at home to Stevenage... and were beaten 2-1
In comparison, looking beyond the Match Result stats, the formbook shows that Portsmouth for example have landed Most Corners and -1 Corner Handicap bets in 100% of home games (9 out of 9). They covered those options against Stevenage, winning the corner count 4-0.
The bookies offer dozens of betting markets for every game. We don’t need to be betting on Home Wins. And certainly not at short, poor value prices.

Standout trends from Across the Leagues...
Here are some more of the top-rated stats on your Across the Leagues site right now...
- Premier League – Arsenal 3 Bournemouth 1... This was a battle between the Top 2 on our Premier League ‘Most Corners’ chart – and the away team and 3/1 (4.00) match-day underdogs for that bet, Bournemouth came through with the corners win, 10-3. Bournemouth have now landed Most Corners bets in 11 of 13 league games this season (85%)
- Premier League – Chelsea 2 Tottenham 1... Tottenham’s first league defeat of the season, and the 2-1 score-line kept up Chelsea’s 100% home record for Over 2.5 Goals bets (7 games out of 7)
- Premier League – Watford 0 Stoke 1... There were just 6 corners in this game, keeping Watford in 1st place on our Premier League rankings for Under 10.5 Corners bets (85%)
- Championship – Derby County 1 Norwich City 0... Derby remain top-rated for Under 2.5 Goals bets, with an 83% record that beats any other side in the Football League
- Championship – Rotherham 1 Leeds Utd 2... Chris Wood opening the scoring here, for the third time in his last 6 Leeds appearances. Wood is 4 goals off top spot in the Championship Top Scorer chart, but is ranked No.1 in the division on our First Scorer and Anytime Scorer betting tables
- League One – Northampton Town 0 Bolton Wanderers 1... Bolton have won 12 games now, and 8 of them have paid out in the Win To Nil market – an option that always offers greater odds than the standard match win. Bolton have got 9 Clean Sheets from 20 games – more than any other side in League One
- League Two – Blackpool 4 Newport County 1... Newport remain top-rated for Most Cards & Most Booking Points bets – their 72% overall record is the highest in the league. The tally in this one was 4 Yellow Cards (40 pts) to Newport, 2 Yellows (20 pts) to Blackpool. Away from home, Newport have landed that bet in 8 out of 10 games
Those are just seven of the trends showing on our site right now...
