Christmas is coming and the busy December schedule steps up a gear this week. With a stack of Championship fixtures and couple of Premier League games tonight – and vice versa tomorrow.

I’ll look at Wednesday’s games in tomorrow’s email. As for today, two markets standout on the stats…

My midweek notebook…

In the Championship, Rotherham take their 100% away Over 2.5 Goals record (10 games out of 10) to Fulham tonight. Fulham have had a 4-4 draw and 5-0 win in their last 2 games, so it’s fair to expect goals…

But unfortunately the bookies are shorter than usual for the Over 2.5 option there, with odds of 1/2 (1.50) at best. Strong stats, but there is a better value bet in that market elsewhere (see Picks below).

Likewise for the Premier League’s top-rated Most Corners team, Bournemouth – who are 2/5 (1.40) to win the Most Corners for the 10th time in 11 games tonight, at home v Leicester City. Leicester have won the Most Corners in their last 2 away games, and the corner count in this one might depend on who scores first…

There are better prices for highly-rated Most Corners and Over 2.5 Goals match-ups elsewhere…

Bournemouth v Leicester City

• Over 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in Leicester’s last 7 games in all comps

Last Saturday’s 4-2 win over Man City was Leicester’s 7th game in a row to go Over 2.5 Goals, yet we can get a bigger price today than we did then…

Leicester are our top-rated Premier League side for Over 2.5 Goals bets this season, with an 80% record giving 12 payouts from 15 games. Including 6 out of 7 payouts on the road.

Bournemouth games have seen plenty of goals lately, too. Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in 3 in a row and in 4 of their last 5. Including a 3-2 defeat at Burnley at the weekend and a 4-3 home win over Liverpool before that.

Also, Bournemouth have kept just one Clean Sheet in 6 games, and Leicester are yet to keep a Clean Sheet in 7 Premier League away games this season.

The stats point to goals tonight…

Huddersfield value for Most Corners…

This is a strong match-up on the Most Corners stats and we can get a value price on the away team…

Huddersfield are our top-rated Championship team for Most Corners bets, with 8 payouts from their last 9 games.

The Totals stats on our site show no team in the division has won more corner kicks than Huddersfield this season.

That recent run of games includes payouts in 3 of Huddersfield’s last 4 away – most recently a comprehensive 13-2 corners win in a 1-1 draw at Blackburn (where Huddersfield scored first after just 6 minutes).

Burton meanwhile are 2nd-bottom of the 24 teams in our League Stats standings for Championship Most Corners bets – with just 2 payouts from 9 home games.

Only one bookie has this market up (William Hill). Elsewhere, NetBet and 10Bet have Corner Handicap options, for example Huddersfield with a +1 head-start at odds-on, or with a -1 Corner Handicap at odds-against.

For me, the straight-up Most Corners bet with William Hill is the best option…
