Every week I research the stats & fixtures, across the leagues. With the aim of identifying games with top-rated stats match-ups, bet opportunities and the best prices available with the bookies.

The Premier League returns…

The Premier League, Championship and Scottish Premiership return from the International break this weekend.

My focus today is on the English topflight, and in particular the Corner Handicap market.

It’s still early days in the 2017/18 season, but this Saturday’s evening TV game looks to present a good opportunity for us to get back in the swing of things with the International fixtures now out of the way…

Man Utd in the winning habit…

Stoke v Man Utd

Premier League, Sat 5.30pm – BT Sport

• Man Utd have won the Most Corners in all 3 games so far

Man Utd have come flying out the blocks this season with 3 out of 3 Premier League victories, 10 goals scored and none conceded…

They’ve also won the Most Corners in all 3 games and have been dominant in doing so, winning 2+ corners more than opponents each time.

Man Utd have out-cornered Stoke 12-1, 7-1 and 10-7 in 3 of their last 4 visits to the Bet365 Stadium – and a key stat here is that on all 4 occasions, United failed to win the game.

A similar pattern was on show a couple of weeks ago when Stoke beat Arsenal 1-0 and the Gunners bossed the corners, 9-2…

Stoke also had a couple of corner/ match combinations like that at Home against the big boys last season. For example an 11-5 corners defeat when holding Chelsea at 1-1 until the 87th minute, and an 8-5 corners defeat against Liverpool having led by 1 goal to nil from before half time until the 70th minute.

The stats make Man Utd a solid pick in the corner-winning markets here – and even more so if Stoke do prove stubborn opponents to break down in front of goal…

Man Utd are odds-on at 4/9 (1.44) for the Most Corners, but the odds-against prices for the -2 Corner Handicap look worth taking for a greater return – paying out if United win 3+ corners more than Stoke.
