Standout stats for the weekend...

Our Standout Stats stayed true to form with another ‘two out of three’ week last weekend...

In the Championship, Both Teams to Score bets have now paid out in 8 out of 10 Brentford Home games (beat Fulham 3-1). And in Scotland, Rangers kept up their 100% Away record for Over 2.5 Goals with a 2-1 win at Aberdeen.

Here are three teams making waves on our website this week...

This weekend’s Standout Stats are:

  • Stoke are joint-1st in the Premier League for Over 2.5 Goals, with a 73% strike-rate. That ratio is even higher in recent weeks with 11 of their last 12 games paying out. This weekend they travel to Tottenham, who have beaten them 4-0 in each of their last three meetings...
  • Hull are No.1 in the Championship for Over 2.5 Goals – including a high 90% Home record with 9 payouts from 10 games. Six of their last 7 games have seen 4+ goals scored. On Saturday the Tigers host Brentford, who themselves have had 6 of their last 10 games going Over 2.5 and Over 3.5 Goals...
  • Luton are top of League Two and have the second-highest record in the division for Over 2.5 Goals, including 8 out of 10 payouts at Home (80%). The Hatters have scored hatfuls lately, winning 4-0, 0-5, 1-2, 3-0 and 7-0 in their last 5 games in all comps. Saturday’s visitors Notts County are 2nd in the league on Goal Difference, and Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in 7 of their last 10 in all comps...

Over 2.5 Goals bets are widely available with most bookmakers.

Top trends for derby day...

There are three Premier League derbies on Sky Sports this weekend. West Ham v Chelsea on Saturday lunchtime – then a ‘proper’ Super Sunday with Liverpool v Everton followed by Man Utd v Man City...

The Merseyside derby is being talked about with a couple of stats in mind – one being the fact that Liverpool are unbeaten v Everton in 14 games, the other being the fact this fixture has had more Red Cards than any other in Premier League history.

Digging a bit deeper though, it’s this stat that gets my eye:

  • Everton have received the Most Cards in 8 of the last 10 Merseyside derbies

Liverpool are yet to get the Most Cards in any of their 7 Home league games this season. The bookies make Everton around 1/2 (1.50) for the Most Cards or Most Booking Points.

And in the Manchester derby...

Man City are a goal machine this season and are the joint-top team in the Premier League for Over 2.5 Goals payouts. However – they’re coming up against a master tactician in Jose ‘park the bus’ Mourinho here...

  • Under 2.5 Goals bets have paid out in 12 out of 16 games v Top Six sides since Jose Mourinho took over at Man Utd

Under 2.5 Goals bets have actually paid out in 4 of the last 5 meetings between Man Utd v Man City in all comps over last two seasons.

The ‘Under’ option is available at Evens (2.00) this weekend. I’ve gone for a low-scoring game in my Predictions (see below), with the 1-1 Correct Score which is a 6/1 (7.00) chance.
