Red Devils rack up the Corners...
Last week’s Picks & Analysis (Fri 8th Sept) worked out well. Man Utd failed to win at Stoke for the fifth season running – and kept up their 100% record for winning the Most Corners...
That’s now 4 out of 4 Premier League games this season where Man Utd have won the Most Corners. They won the corner count 11-5 when held to a 2-2 draw at Stoke on Saturday evening – more than enough to land our Pick on Man Utd -2 Corner Handicap at odds of 5/4 (2.25).
United have won a Total of 36 Corners For so far, more than any other team in the Premier League.
A good example of using the stats to find alternative markets to the ‘Match Result’ there – Man Utd were odds-on at 1/2 (1.50) for the Away Win and could only manage a draw... but the stats led us to a decent payout in the ‘Corner Handicap’ market.
Here are some of the other teams with strong early-season trends developing in the stats markets...
- Premier League – Man City 5 Liverpool 0 – Man City have won the Most Corners and also covered the -1 Corner Handicap and -2 Corner Handicap in all 4 games so far. They bossed this one 8-3
- Championship – Fulham 1 Cardiff 1 – Fulham maintain their 100% record for Under 2.5 Goals – that’s 6 games out of 6 now, including three 1-1 draws and one 0-0
- League One – Fleetwood 2 Oldham 2 – with 6 games played, Oldham are the only team in League One with a 100% strike-rate for Over 10.5 Corners bets. There were a total of 12 Corners in Saturday’s game
- League Two – Accrington Stanley 3 Carlisle 0 – Another Over 2.5 Goals result for Accrington at the weekend. They’re ranked 1st in the division for that bet (100%), with Carlisle joint-2nd (83%)
- Scottish Premiership – Ross County 1 Partick Thistle 1 – The Yellow Cards score was 3-1 to Ross County here (30 Booking Points to 10), making them played 5 won 5 for Most Cards and Most Booking Points bets this season
