WEEKEND STATS REVIEW

Welcome to your Weekend Stats Review email.

Every Monday we take a look at the latest stats and results – catching up on the performance of our picks, and drawing attention to particularly eye-catching teams, players or trends.

7 out of 8 for the Sky Blues...

Coventry made sure it was an okay weekend for us – beating Barnet 1-0 to land our Match Result pick at a best price of 23/20 (2.15).

That was the Sky Blues’ 7th win from their last 8 Home games in League Two. All of a sudden there is a Playoff push on the cards and Coventry are threatening to turn the Ricoh Arena into a fortress. (Although I know a few long-suffering Coventry fans and they don’t seem as excited by those stats as I do.)

As indicated in our Friday Picks & Analysis, odds of Evens+ (2.00+) looked value for the Home team against rock-bottom Barnet – and so it proved.

Barnet have now lost 7 of their last 9 Away games, and won just 2 of their last 14 overall.

You couldn’t make it up...

Our other pick went awry in one of those games where you have to simply remember, no matter how strong the stats – there is no crystal ball & we cannot predict the future...

Jordan Ayew got a straight red card for Swansea after just 11 minutes. In 26 previous Premier League games this season he had received just one yellow card in total. That’s the way it goes sometimes...

That early sending off set the tone for the game. Huddersfield couldn’t break down the 10 men of Swansea and it ended 0-0, with the Home team racking up a massive 81% of Possession, and 30 Shots to nil and 12 Corners to nil.

Swansea became just the third team in Premier League history to play out a whole game without having registering a single Shot in the official match stats.

The Total Cards score ended up 7 Cards (or 75 Booking Points), well past the Under 3.5 Cards line that we went for. That result ended Swansea’s run of 7 consecutive Under 3.5 Cards payouts.

The bigger picture...

It was a weekend where the best discipline records went slightly out of the window – but only because of two moments of madness...

That was Swansea’s first red card of the season, and Brighton – who are the No.1 team on our Premier League table for Under 3.5 Cards bets, with a 77% overall record – also got their very first red of the campaign...

Even with Anthony Knockaert seeing straight red for a reckless tackle, Everton 2 Brighton 0 still went Under 3.5 Cards, with the Total Cards at 3 (Booking Points = 35 pts).

It was a ‘win one lose one’ weekend for us, but looking at the bigger picture we’ve had 21 winners from our last 30 picks (70%) – and for the season overall our ROI stands at 7% to level stakes.

Latest stats & streaks – 8 out of 9 for Arsenal...

The data on our site highlights many other prolific and profitable trends. For example, these three games all featured in our Standout Stats feature in Friday’s ATL Extra email:

  • Bournemouth 1 Tottenham 4 – Bournemouth remain the form team in the country for Both Teams to Score, with that bet now paying out in 10 of their last 11 Premier League games. Spurs are currently one to watch in that market too, with goals at both ends in 6 of their last 7 Away games in all comps
  • Arsenal 3 Watford 0 – Arsenal are ranked joint-3rd in our Premier League standings for Over 2.5 Goals, with a 73% Home strike-rate. That bet has now paid out in 8 of Arsenal’s last 9 league games overall, and in each of their last 11 meetings with Watford in all comps
  • Cardiff 3 Birmingham 2 – Cardiff are the form team in the Championship with 6 wins in a row. It’s a completely different story for Birmingham though, who have now lost 7 in a row
