Every week I research the stats & fixtures, across the leagues. With the aim of identifying games with top-rated stats match-ups, bet opportunities and the best prices available with the bookies.

Goals, Goals, Goals in the Champions League…

The Champions League has been a reliable tournament for us in recent seasons and the stats delivered again in this week’s Round of 16, 1st Leg ties…

We had two out of three winning picks and a profitable week, thanks to Real Madrid 3 PSG 1 and Porto 0 Liverpool 5 giving us two payouts in the Over 3.5 Goals market – with the standout price being odds of 2/1 (3.00) in the Liverpool game.

Each of this week’s four Champions League games had 4+ goals; we’ll be on the lookout for more stats opportunities next week with four more 1st Leg ties coming up.

This weekend the cup football continues with the FA Cup 5th Round – there’s no Premier League but there are plenty of games in the Football League and in Scotland…

AFC Wimbledon v Bristol Rovers

We’ve landed value Over 2.5 Goals prices on games featuring both of these teams in recent weeks, and this game looks another good Goals opportunity for us…

Bristol Rovers are our top-ranked League One side for Over 2.5 Goals and they’re currently on a 5-game run for that bet – most recently a 3-2 win over Rochdale on Tuesday and a 2-1 win at Oxford last Saturday.

As we noted at the end of January, AFC Wimbledon have actually been in and around the top places on the Under 2.5 Goals chart this season, but in recent weeks the goals have been going in…

Four of AFC’s last 5 games including each of their last 3 have gone Over 2.5 Goals, with a 4-3 defeat at Plymouth on Tuesday night and a 1-3 loss at Home v Northampton last Saturday the two most recent.

There were 4 goals when Rovers and AFC Wimbledon met earlier this season and recent form makes this one a good value Over 2.5 Goals opportunity, with that option the slight outsider in the bookies’ Under/ Over market.

Hamilton v Rangers

The Over 2.5 Goals stats also standout for Sunday’s TV game in Scotland…

Hamilton v Rangers is 1st v 2nd on our Over 2.5 Goals table for the Scottish Premiership. And the Home v Away stats match-up is particularly strong with Hamilton 75% (9 out of 12 Home games) and Rangers 85% (11 out of 13 Away games).

Six of Hamilton’s last 7 league games have seen 3+ goals scored. Rangers have scored 2 goals in 4 of their last 6 Away league games, and hit 6 at League One side Ayr in the Scottish FA Cup last weekend.

Hamilton are 2nd-bottom of the Scottish Premiership but actually beat Rangers in their last meeting, winning 2-0 at Ibrox in November. In their previous three meetings in all comps in 2017, Rangers beat them 1-4, 4-0 and 6-0.

Third place Rangers are just 4/9 (1.44) to win on Sunday, but the stats make this a highly-rated match-up for Over 2.5 Goals and that option is available at a bigger price than the Away Win.
