Chelsea lose – but stay true to form...

When champions Chelsea lost at home to Burnley last weekend, thousands of punters will have been pulling their hair out...

But if you follow the stats you can find success by ignoring Home Win bets like Chelsea...

Our stats showed that Over 2.5 Goals bets paid out in 89% of Chelsea Home games last season. That’s 17 payouts from 19 Premier League games at Stamford Bridge.

And the trend continued on day one of the new 2017/18 season, with 5 goals in that 2-3 home defeat v Burnley.

That’s just one example of how the stats can lead you to profits – in markets many people miss out on...

In last Friday’s email I listed three standout stats for the Premier League, and two of them proved profitable on the opening weekend. Along with that Chelsea goals trend, Watford built on last season’s 79% Home record for Under 10.5 Corners bets with just 6 corners in their 3-3 draw with Liverpool.

  • We cover the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, and now the Scottish Premiership too

Corner-kick stats...

Today I’m looking at the Total Corners market in the Championship. There are four teams in action who all have early season ‘100%’ (3 out of 3) records for Under 10.5 Corners games...

  • Burton Albion v Birmingham
  • QPR v Hull
  • Preston v Reading
  • Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough

A handful or so bookies offer Under/ Over Total Corners bets for every game in the Football League...

Looking at this weekend’s markets, Betfair Sportsbook have the best range of bets available – including Under 10.5 Corners options for those four Championship games listed above.

Bet365 and NetBet also have a good range of Total Corners markets.

I’ll keep you updated on teams & stats trends like this throughout the season...

And remember, you can get full access to stats covering over 30 betting markets for over 100 teams in England and Scotland here.

Premier League Predictions...

Our new 2017/18 Premier League Predictor game will be up and running very soon, I promise. This season we’ve got a completely new game for you, with your chance to compete exclusively against other ATL Extra readers.

  • For the first time, we’ll be offering weekly cash prizes for the top-scoring Predictor player, as well as our overall end of season 1st place prize

We’re launching the game next weekend. I’ll email you when it’s time to enter your first set of match and score-line predictions.

To whet your appetite, here are my predictions for this weekend (playing only for fun here – our league and points scoring will start with the launch of our new Predictor game, coming very soon).

And as usual, in the interests of comparison, I’ve compiled the predictions from Mark Lawrenson on the BBC and Paul Merson at Sky Sports, too...
