- 7 bookies hidden in the Corners...
It pays to shop around...
When it comes to researching our weekly picks, using the stats to find potential bet opportunities is just one part of the process...
Finding value prices about highly-rated outcomes is another – and before that, we need to find the actual betting market with the bookmakers in the first place. Which is sometimes easier said than done...
Take our winning bet on Brighton to get the Most Cards, from last weekend’s Picks & Analysis email:
Just one bookmaker (888 Sport) was showing that bet on the odds comparison sites that I consulted.
Industry leader Oddschecker was showing none at all; as far as the No.1 odds comparison hub on the internet was concerned, there was no such betting market available.
Good thing that we know better...
I’ll be your personal shopper...
I’ve been doing this long enough to know where to look.
And hunting out the markets is an important part of your Across the Leagues service. Meaning we can profit from opportunities and prices that others might miss entirely.
I’m sure you don’t have the time or inclination to hunt through webpage after webpage, click after click, site after site. But I actually find enjoyment in it...
When I found that Bet365 had odds of 2/1 for that Brighton bet, well that’s probably the most cheery my colleagues saw me at my desk all week.
In the end your Friday email advice listed seven bookies all offering the ‘Most Cards’ market in one guise or another.
It pays to shop around – and it pays to do our homework.
The ‘shopping around’ (and to be more precise, knowing where to look) is all part of your Across the Leagues service. I do this on your behalf.
Sometimes it’s like the bookies or bets don’t want to be found...
Seven bookies hidden in the Corners...
Take tonight’s FA Cup replay between Tottenham and Rochdale as the latest example:
A high-profile match, live on TV – surely the odds comparison sites have this all covered? Nope. Think again...
According to Oddschecker, just five bookies have a Corner Handicap market for tonight’s game.
But...
Straight off the bat I could tell you that the likes of Bet365, Skybet, 888 Sport, Unibet and Marathonbet would all have that market. I’ve just checked – and indeed they do.
And there’s more...
Sometimes a relatively new or less well-known bookmaker enters the fray with the stats markets. Making an account with them well worth having...
For tonight’s game, NetBet and 10Bet have an impressively wide range of Total Corners and Corner Handicap bets available.
All told then, that’s seven bookies I’ve mentioned that have the Corner Handicap tonight – on top of the five showing on Oddschecker (BetVictor, Paddy Power, Betfair Sportsbook, William Hill, Betway).
NetBet and 10Bet appear to be offering the same for every Premier League game, too. Well worth knowing – and well worth taking a look on their site and at their ‘New Customer’ welcome offers...

I’ll be back on Friday with your Weekend Picks & Analysis. Right now I’m off to do my homework...
