Your all-new weekend Stats Picks…
It’s a week since I took the reins. Time to put my stamp on things. Starting from today, I’m shaking up our weekly ‘Picks’ email. With a new look designed to draw as many standout stats & highly-rated bet opportunities as possible from the wealth of data on your members-only Across the Leagues website.
I know that many of you enjoy sourcing your own bet selections from the stats and Head-2-Head match-ups on the site. But if you don’t have the time or inclination to do that, then that’s where your weekly member email comes in…
Each week I’ll be using this email to deliver you a summary of the top stats from our site, in relation to the upcoming games. Presented in an array of easy-to-follow categories. We’ll be monitoring the performance of all the picks listed, and recording the results.
The aim is to provide you with a ‘stats sheet’ that highlights the strongest stats on our site, along with the best odds and suggested bet combinations, too.
FORM TEAM
They may have lost their manager this week, but Celtic are the form side in the UK with 8 wins in a row in the Scottish Premiership. There’s no league game for them this weekend. But the League One leaders are at Home to struggling Rochdale who have lost 3 in a row…
- Luton have won 6 of their last 7 games and are unbeaten in 21 league games going back to October
Luton to beat Rochdale is a best price 9/20 (1.45) with Bet365, BetVictor and Sportingbet.
GOALS MATCH-UPS
The Total Goals Under/ Over 2.5 and Both Teams to Score markets have some of the most reliable trends of all the stats. These markets are widely available for all games in every division.
Standout match-ups this weekend:
- Ipswich v Reading – Ipswich are ranked 2nd in the Championship for Under 2.5 Goals, with a 76% Home strike-rate including 6 of the last 7 at Portman Road. Reading have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 Away. Under 2.5 Goals is 8/13 (1.62) or 4/7 (1.57) in general
- Doncaster Rovers v Charlton – Doncaster have the No.1 Home record in League One for Over 2.5 Goals (75%) including their last 6 in a row at the Keepmoat Stadium. There have been 3+ Total Goals in 7 of Charlton’s last 9 Away. Over 2.5 Goals is 4/5 (1.80) in general
- Sunderland v Plymouth – This is 1st v 3rd on our League One standings for Both Teams to Score. There have been goals at both ends in 4 of Sunderland’s last 5 games, and in 8 of their last 10 at the Stadium of Light. Both Teams to Score – Yes is 10/11 (1.91) with Betfred and 4/5+ (1.80+) in general
We’ll also be looking to land the occasionally combo on our Goals picks, with Doubles & Trebles the likely targets.
The Treble on those 3 goals picks pays 4/1+ (5.00+) across the board, and a top price 9/2 (5.50) with Betfred and Marathonbet.
WINNING STREAK
Every week we’ll be monitoring the stats & trends and taking note of any particularly eye-catching winning streaks. This Scottish Premiership run is one of the strongest you’ll see all season…
- Under 10.5 Corners bets have paid out in 16 Kilmarnock games in a row
Killie play Motherwell on Saturday. This game was originally attempted on Wednesday night but abandoned just after half time due to heavy fog (with just 2 corner kicks taken until that point).
Under 10.5 Corners is available at 12/25 (1.48) with 888 Sport and Unibet.
FEATURED GAME
Every weekend we’ll be looking in more depth at a TV game. The live games give us the chance to bet across the widest possible range of stats markets, with Corners and Cards & Booking Points opportunities coming to the fore for televised matches…
Tottenham v Arsenal
Premier League
Saturday, 12.30pm – Sky Sports
Match odds: Tottenham 11/10 (2.10), Draw 13/5 (3.60), Arsenal 11/4 (3.75)
What better place to start for our first ‘featured game’ than the North London derby, live on Saturday lunchtime…
It’s often said that ‘form goes out the window’ on derby day. But these established rivalries do lend themselves to the historical head-to-heads:
- In the last 12 meetings between Tottenham and Arsenal in all competitions, the Home team has won the Most Corners
There’s a nice stat and one you probably won’t hear anyone else talking about this weekend. The current season stats fit too, with Spurs winning the Most Corners at Home twice as many times as Arsenal have Away. And the Gunners have been out-cornered in each of their last 4 Away games at Huddersfield, Man City, West Ham and Liverpool.
Most Corners – Tottenham (or Tottenham to win the Corners Match Bet) is a best price 4/6 (1.67) with Skybet, 8/13 (1.62) Bet365, BetVictor, 3/5 (1.60) Betway, 4/7 (1.57) Boylesports, Paddy Power, Betfair Sportsbook, 888 Sport, Unibet.
