Stats for the Weekend…
With the new German Bundesliga season kicking off this evening, we thought we’d take a look at some of the impressive scoring stats posted by Bayern Munich…
Bayern Munich – goals expected from day one…
The German giants have won the Bundesliga seven seasons in a row. In the Outright Winner betting, they’re short odds-on at just 3/10 (1.30) to take the title again in 2019/20.
Last season Bayern finished with a Goal Difference of +56, which was 19 goals clear of 2nd place Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski has been at the top of the game for some time now, racking up the following Top Goalscorer finishes (most recent first): 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 1st.
It’s no surprise then to see Lewandowski firmly installed as the favourite in the Bundesliga 2019/20 market. The Polish striker is odds-on across the board, at 10/11 (1.91) at the very best.
Opening day form…
Lewandowski has scored on the opening day of the Bundesliga season in each of the last four years. If he finds the net against Hertha Berlin this evening (7.30pm, BT Sport) then he’ll be out on his own in the ‘opening day’ record books…
The bookies have the Polish striker as the clear 8/13 (1.62) favourite in the Anytime Scorer betting today, and around 2/1 (3.00) in the First Scorer market.
Bayern Munich have kicked off with a day one victory in each of the last seven campaigns, with all seven first round matches also going Over 2.5 Goals:
3-1
3-1
6-0
5-0
2-1
3-1
3-0
Again, the bookies are taking no chances…
Bayern are just 1/6 (1.17) to get the three points tonight. And Over 2.5 Goals is also short odds-on, at 2/5 (1.40).
- For a better payout, the higher Over 3.5 Goals line is the one to look for here, with Evens+ (2.00+) generally available, including with Bet365. Five of Bayern’s last 7 opening day wins have gone Over 3.5, and so did 7 of their last 8 home games in all competitions at the backend of last season. And in 2018/19 overall, Bayern scored 3+ goals on their own in 11 of their 17 home league outings
Premier League Predictions…
Our new 2019/20 Premier League Predictor game is still on hold due to some infuriating technical problems. We’re working on it. We’ll keep you posted. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. The game WILL be back very soon, with cash prizes to be won throughout the season.
The Predictor has proved popular in the last couple of years, and this season in your ATL Extra emails we’ll be giving more attention than ever before to our weekly Premier League Predictions section.
