Reasons to be cheerful…
We ended up treading water with our League Two weekend picks. MK Dons won 2-0 to land the To Win To Nil odds against Macclesfield. But Forest Green failed to get the goal needed for Both Teams to Score, losing 0-1 v Morecambe.
And as is the way with these things, the two League One stats that I mentioned in passing in Friday’s Picks & Analysis email both went to form…
Sunderland remain top of the division for Both Teams to Score (Sunderland 1 Wycombe 1). And Barnsley stay in 1st place for Most Corners, with a 9-7 corners win in a 2-0 win at Accrington – despite playing almost half an hour with 10 men.
I’d been counting down the days until the International break was over, so we could get down to league business and the Christmas run-in. But I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed the England v Croatia game on Sunday afternoon…
A couple of late goals gave England an entertaining 2-1 win, propelling them into the semi finals of the inaugural UEFA Nations League competition.
And once again, England won the Most Corners. That was the key stat flagged up in Friday’s ATL Extra email. The corners score was England 9 Croatia 4 (enough to cover a -1, -2, -3 or -4 Corner Handicap).
The Three Lions have now landed Most Corners bets in 30 of their last 36 games. That’s a trend we’ll be looking to follow when the International football returns in the New Year.
