Welcome to this weekend’s Across the Leagues EXTRA.

Every Friday in this free email I’ll be sharing some profitable little-known stats with you. With the aim of leading us to a good few winners along the way…

Stats for the weekend…

Liverpool v Brighton

Premier League
Saturday, 5.30pm – BT Sport

Match odds: Liverpool 1/6 (1.17), Draw 15/2 (7.50), Brighton 22/1 (23.00)

This season we’re seeing more and more bookies offering ‘Bet Builder’ tools on their websites. These let you create your own bet combination – a potentially lucrative way of combining top trends from our unique betting stats.

The likes of BetVictor, Bet365 and Coral are all offering various versions of this. Along with bookies such as Paddy Power, William Hill, Skybet, Ladbrokes and Betfred who all have large selections of pre-selected stats bets combinations, with names like ‘RequestABet’… ‘PickAPunt’… ‘YourCall’… ‘GetAPrice’… and so on.

With this in mind, here are some key stats from my Across the Leagues website, for this Saturday evening’s live Premier League game:

  • Liverpool had the only unbeaten Home record in the Premier League last season
  • Liverpool were the 2nd-highest Home scorers. Brighton had the lowest Away points tally in the division
  • Liverpool did the double over Brighton, winning 4-0 at Anfield and 5-1 Away at the AmEx
  • Brighton and Liverpool were the two top-ranked teams for Under 3.5 Cards bets
  • Liverpool averaged 7.05 Corners For per Home game. Brighton conceded an average of 6.9 Corners Against per Away game

It’s not an exact science of course, but putting those numbers together, the stats paint a picture that looks something like this:

Liverpool to win, high goals & low cards in the game and Liverpool to get more than 6 corners…

Bet365’s ‘Bet Builder’ comes out at odds of 13/5 (3.60):

Bet365's 'Bet Builder'

BetVictor’s ‘PriceItUp’ Bet Builder comes out at 23/10 (3.30):

BetVictor's 'PriceItUp'

With Liverpool short odds-on at just 1/6 (1.17) to win the game, stats bets and combinations like these can be a good way to ramp up the price and get a better return for your money.

With more & more of these markets becoming available, we’ll be returning to this topic throughout the season.

Win big in the Big Apple…

The US Open starts on Monday. Last year my colleague and tennis analyst Tom Wilson named the 40/1 winner, Sloane Stephens.

The year before, he picked out 33/1 runner-up Karolina Pliskova, for a juicy Each Way payout.

Clearly, Tom is a man worth listening to in New York. Lookout for your chance to join him for the US Open and put his advice to the test. I’ll email you on Sunday with the details…

Best wishes,

Oliver Upstone
