Okay, so it’s not the World Cup.
But I’m still dreaming of the long hot summer of ’18…
England play Croatia at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, in a rematch of their Russia 2018 semi final. This time the stage is a UEFA Nations League final group match.
After winning 3-2 in Spain, England put themselves in with a chance of qualifying from the attractively named Group A4 (sounds more like a road).
And after Croatia beat Spain by the same 3-2 score on Thursday night, the Group is wide open with all three countries in with a chance of finishing top…

A win puts the Three Lions into next summer’s UEFA Nations League Finals. But a score draw or defeat will relegate Gareth Southgate’s men down to the Group ‘B’ tier.
A draw is no good to Croatia, either. Whoever wins this game will go on to the Finals. A draw hands it to Spain.
Anyway. Let’s not get ourselves in a twist with all the permutations. The point is, the win incentive is there…
Our go-to stat for England is the Most Corners bet. This has served us very well in recent times. And by recent times, I actually mean the last couple of years…
England won the Most Corners in 5 of their 7 games at the World Cup. And have landed this bet in 29 of their last 35 games overall.

In a drab 0-0 behind closed doors in Croatia last month, England took the corners tally, 4-2.
In their last Away game, Croatia were out-cornered 8-0 in a 6-0 defeat in Spain.
The bookies have been quick to make England favourites to win the match this weekend. But they’re being a bit slower in pricing up the Most Corners market…
My usual recommended ports of call for this bet would be Bet365, Skybet, William Hill, BetVictor, Paddy Power, Betfair Sportsbook.
You might also do well to check out one of the lesser-known firms, such as NetBet. They tend to call the Most Corners market something like England -0.5 Corner Handicap.
The markets should appear over the weekend, if not later today.
England v Croatia is live on Sky Sports on Sunday, kick off 2pm.
