Tottenham won 3-0 at Old Trafford night, but as ever all the talk is about Jose Mourinho…
The Man Utd manager is the 11/8 (2.38) favourite in the Premier League ‘Next Manager to Leave’ market. And last season’s runners-up are out to 50/1 for the title.
Our weekend results could have gone better, but unlike Jose, I won’t be storming out of any press conferences just yet…
Bournemouth v Everton turned into a thriller, ending 2-2 for a winning Over 2.5 Goals pick – with both sides finishing with 10 men. Six of the last 7 meetings between the Cherries and the Toffees have now seen 3+ goals scored; something to keep in mind when the reverse fixture comes along later this season.
In League One, Bristol Rovers’ 14-game 2018 Home streak for Both Teams to Score came to an end (Rover 0 Southend 1). And in the Championship, QPR arrested a 4-game losing run to beat Wigan 1-0 and subdue the Over 2.5 Goals stats.
After last night’s big win, Tottenham are now played 3 won 3 in the Premier League – along with Chelsea, Liverpool and Watford all on a maximum 9 points.
It’s still very early days of course. But it can pay to be aware of developing trends…
Early runners in the 100% club…
Here are a clutch of other early-season 100% trends currently showing in the League Stats on your members-only Across the Leagues website:
- Premier League – Everton are 3 out of 3 for Both Teams to Score bets – the only team in the division with the full house for goals at both ends
- Championship – Blackburn and QPR are 5 for 5 each for Under 10.5 Corners payouts
- League One – after an 11-0 corners win in their 2-2 draw at Scunthorpe, Barnsley are the early front-runners in League One for Most Corners. In all 5 games they’ve won 3+ corners more than opponents, enough to beat a -2 Corner Handicap each time
- League Two – Cheltenham are 100% for Under 2.5 Goals, with 4 of their 5 games ending 1-0 (one 1-0 win and 3 x 1-0 defeats)
- Scottish Premiership – Rangers are 3 out of 3 for both Over 3.5 Cards and Over 4.5 Cards games
Those are just a handful of markets and examples. Every week we’ll be keeping track of the top performing teams across a range of stats – then looking to cash-in when the next appropriate round of games come along…
