A good week for Martin…
Hats off to Across the Leagues member Martin O, who had a great few days taking the stats, running with them and making his own selections last week…
Here’s Martin in his own words:
‘…Profitable & fun…’
“Just a quick line to say thanks for the amazing info your service supplies. I was still counting the £1000 I won on your Leverkusen/Lazio/Coventry treble when I saw that you advised Lewandowski to score and a high corner count in Chelsea Bayern game. I got on Lewandowski to score/Chelsea 3+ corners and Bayern 5+ corners-won another £500 on this treble! Can't wait for tonight's advice - gambling has never been so profitable or fun - thanks again!!”
‘…Spot on – another £600 profit…’
“Had to write again to say thanks for your brilliant service! Hot on the heels of £1000 from the weekend treble, then £500 from Lewandowski and corners in the Chelsea game, you were again spot on saying that Real would be under pressure from De Bruyne and there would be a lot of fouls. I had a treble on a red card to be shown, De Bruyne to score and City to win at 6/1! Another £600 profit to add to my bank - thanks again for the heads up!!”
Absolutely brilliant stuff from Martin there. And a great example of using our stats to play around in the markets and go after some big odds from your own selections.
Over 2.5 Goals in Italy & Germany…
There were a few eye-catching score-lines in Europe at the weekend.
For our recommended Stats Pick acca, we could’ve done with some of the goals at Lecce and Hoffenheim being shared out among our other featured games…
Lecce 2 Atalanta 7 (seven) is one of those scores you have to look twice at.
We already knew that Atalanta were ranked No.1 in Serie A for Over 2.5 Goals results this season.
Atalanta are also the top scorers in Italy’s top-flight this season. They’ve now racked up 70 Goals For from 25 league games played. With Over 2.5 Goals bets paying out 21 times (84%).
Cagliari 3 Roma 4 was another crazy one for Correct Score followers. Over 2.5 Goals has now paid out in 5 Roma games in a row in Serie A. Cagliari are 14 league games without a Clean Sheet, since the first weekend of November.
In Germany, Hoffenheim 0 Bayern Munich 6 was another very high-scoring game. The Bundesliga leaders have now given Over 2.5 Goals payouts in 18 of their last 20 games.
Bayern’s away Over 2.5 Goals record for the season is 92% (11 away games out of 12).
Augsburg 2 Borussia Monchengladbach 3 and Dusseldorf 3 Hertha Berlin 3 also standout from the weekend results in Germany’s top division…
Augsburg are 83% at home for Over 2.5 Goals (10 games out of 12).
Hertha Berlin are 75% on the road (9 games out of 12).
The rest of Europe…
In terms of overall season-long strike-rates, Serie A and the Bundesliga are outperforming the other top-flight divisions on our website when it comes to providing teams with the highest Over 2.5 Goals stats.
Whereas the likes of Atalanta and Bayern Munich (as well as Mainz and Borussia Dortmund) are all in the 80%+ bracket for that bet. The English Premier League, Scottish Premiership and Spanish La Liga don’t have any teams that can match those 80%+ overall figures.
What the stats don’t tell you…
Several of those weekend games were played against a backdrop of off-pitch events that the stats don’t illustrate. That’s why I’m here to write about the numbers, and not just some robot (!)…
In Italy, some games were once again called off amid concerns over the spread of the coronavirus.
And in Germany, that Bayern 6-0 win at Hoffenheim could have been more, but the game was stopped twice after members of the away crowd unveiled an insulting banner. The last 13 or so minutes were played out with Hoffenheim and Bayern players simply knocking the ball about between in each other, in protest at the crowd behaviour.
Midweek fixtures…
This week the FA Cup 5th Round takes place across the weekday evenings. And in the league action – which is our focus of attention – there are a handful of midweek games in the Football League. Along with a full programme in the Scottish Premiership over Tuesday & Wednesday night.
I’ll be back tomorrow with your Midweek Stats Picks email, looking at those games…
Best wishes,

Shaun Humphris
