Top Trends…
It was FA Cup 3rd Round weekend in England, but there was a full weekend programme in the Italian and Spanish top-flights…
ITALY – SERIE A
9 in a row for Lazio…
Serie A top scorer Ciro Immobile scored a late winner for Lazio on Sunday, extending the 3rd place side’s run to 9 league wins in a row.
The Italian striker’s brace helped Lazio come from behind to win 2-1 at Brescia.
Monday’s Serie A games included a 4-0 win for defending champions Juventus, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick.
Inter Milan have the chance to go back top of the league ahead of Juve on goal difference tonight, if they can win away at Napoli.
The Naples side feature again on Saturday – Napoli travel to Lazio, looking to stop the home team from hitting the ‘perfect 10’ with their Serie A winning streak.
Ciro v Cristiano…
In the top scorer chart, Ciro Immobile is 6 goals ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
In terms of the match betting markets, Immobile has landed 13 Anytime Scorer payouts from 17 Serie A appearances this season, for an impressive 76% strike-rate. Ronaldo now has 10 Anytime payouts from 15 games (67%).
In our First Goalscorer chart, Immobile is in 1st place with 6 opening goals (35%). Ronaldo has given 4 First Goalscorer payouts (27%).
SPAIN – LA LIGA
Strong stats in Spain…
We flagged up two weekend Goals picks in Spain that both hit the mark.
On the Under 2.5 Goals stats, Atheltic Bilbao moved into 1st place for this bet on the La Liga table on our website, drawing 1-1 at Sevilla on Friday night.
Blibao now have an 80% away record for Under 2.5 Goals. Sevilla’s home strike-rate is now 78%, with 7 payouts from 9 games in front of their own fans.
On the other side of the Total Goals line, Real Sociedad 1 Villarreal 2 franked both sides’ Over 2.5 Goals form.
Villarreal are now up to 90% on the road for Over 2.5 Goals, with 9 of their 10 away La Liga games seeing 3+ goals.
Sociedad have produced an Over 2.5 Goals result in 7 of their last 8 home games.
This week’s league action…
Scotland and Germany are on their winter break for a couple of weeks, and there’s no La Liga fixture list this coming weekend. But all our other leagues are back in action across Friday, Saturday & Sunday…
That includes Sheffield United v West Ham kicking off the Premier League games on Friday night (Sky Sports). Along with a full weekend schedule in the English Championship, League One, League Two as well as Serie A in Italy.
I’ll be back on Friday with your next Stats Picks.
Best wishes,

Shaun Humphris
