‘One away’…
It’s a familiar story for anyone who has ever placed a football accumulator…
One 6-fold Midweek Acca was one leg away from landing the odds at 9/1.
Tottenham were the culprit, drawing 0-0 at Bournemouth. Or maybe the officials are to blame… the Premier League have said that Spurs should have had a penalty last night for a foul on Harry Kane. The match ref (and VAR team) didn’t see it that, way though.
Considering Tottenham didn’t actually manage to register a shot on target in the entire match, we can’t be too bitter.
For the season overall, that’s the fifth time we’ve been ‘one away’ from landing our Premier League match result accumulator. And a couple of those were at odds of 38/1 and 80/1. Small margins, as they say.
VAR wars…
Jose Mourinho’s interviews have been ‘fun’ lately, with a couple of dubious VAR moments going against his team. The post-match interview this Sunday could be must-watch viewing, too…
Michael Oliver was the VAR official for the Bournemouth game last night. Oliver is the match referee for Spurs v Arsenal.
What price for more controversy in the North London derby this weekend? Skybet go 6/4 (2.5) for a referee’s decision to be overturned by VAR, and odds-on at 1/2 (1.5) for that not to happen.

Correct Scores…
In the midweek round I managed to pick out two out of 10 score-lines, with Everton & Southampton drawing 1-1, and Liverpool winning 3-1 at Brighton.

- A 0-0 draw for Wolves v Everton is 6/1 (7.0).
