Confirmed - our Bundesliga plan of action...
What we’re all crying out for right now is some clarity. We might have to wait a bit longer for that when it comes to the Premier League.
So I’ll do my bit today by spelling out in very clear terms what to expect from your Across the Leagues service this week.
The key news has been from Germany:
- The Bundesliga has confirmed that it will return this weekend, Saturday 16th May
- There are 9 games on the fixture list this weekend, taking place from Saturday afternoon through to Monday evening
- In total, there are 82 games left to play to complete the Bundesliga season. Sixteen of the 18 clubs have got 9 games left, plus Werder Bremen v Eintracht Frankfurt which is a game in hand
Providing the coronavirus situation doesn’t worsen in Germany and/ or with the Bundesliga squads, play will recommence at 2.30pm this Saturday.
BT Sport have the Bundesliga broadcast rights in the UK. BT are due to make an announcement on Tuesday regarding their coverage of the revised German fixture list, and how many games we’ll get to watch on TV.
Here’s this weekend’s fixture list, which is matchday 26 of the Bundesliga 2019/20 campaign:
All kicks off 2.30pm unless stated
Saturday
Augsburg v Wolfsburg
Borussia Dortmund v Schalke
Fortuna Dusseldorf v Paderborn
Hoffenheim v Hertha Berlin
RB Leipzig v Freiburg
Eintracht Frankfurt v Borussia Monchengladbach (5.30pm)
