Here’s the pick of the stats for tonight – and there should be some entertainment in store...
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Salzburg v Napoli

This one could be fun. The stats say to expect goals in Salzburg – and plenty of them. Here is the Austrian club’s home record so far this season:

With Napoli currently one point ahead of Salzburg and Liverpool in Group E – and Liverpool about to embark on a double-header v bottom club Genk – both teams will be out to secure some important points in this one.
Three of Napoli’s 4 away games in Italy’s Serie A have seen high goals total, too: 3-4, 4-3 and 4-1.

This Group E game also promises goals. Liverpool may be top of the Premier League and reigning champions in Europe, but the Reds have only managed 3 Clean Sheets in 14 games this season. Those defensive shutouts came at Burnley, MK Dons (EFL Cup) and Sheffield Utd.
And Liverpool’s away form in the competition has been surprisingly poor. Take out Champions League finals (neutral grounds), and Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost 6 of their last 8 on the road in Europe.
Back to the goals stats, and so far 9 of Liverpool’s 14 games in all comps have gone Over 2.5 Goals.
Genk have managed to hold Napoli to a 0-0 last time out, but the 6-2 hammering at Salzburg showed their vulnerability at this level. And Genk have conceded in 4 of their 5 home games in the Belgian league this season.
