Getting ready for action – in the Scottish Premiership…
Yesterday we took note of some Premier League stats. Today we’re continuing our build-up to the new season with a look at the Scottish Premiership.
This was a new league added to our website stats last season; you can view the full & final 2017/18 Scottish Premiership figures online now. We also have the 2016/17 stats on there too.
While the mainstream press will be mostly concerned with the new twist that Steven Gerrard v Brendan Rodgers brings to the Rangers v Celtic rivalry, we will be concentrating on the lower-profile areas of the stats and betting markets in 2018/19…
To whet your appetite for the big kick off north of the border, here are three profitable trends from last season’s Scottish Premiership stats:
- Rangers – Away: ‘Over 2.5 Goals’
Rangers were the joint-top team for Over 2.5 Goals bets (68%), and their Away record was the clear highest in the division with 16 payouts from 19 games (84%).
- Hibernian – Home: ‘Most Corners’
Hibernian matched 1st place Celtic for Most Corners wins last season (71%), and pipped them to top spot on the Home stats – with Hibs landing Most Corners bets in 15 out of 19 Home games (79%).
- St Johnstone – Home: ‘Over 3.5 Cards’
St Johnstone were the top overall team in the Scottish Premiership for Over 3.5 Cards bets last season with a 71% strike-rate. At Home, that figure rose to 74% with 14 payouts from 19 games.
