In Across the Leagues today:
The Scorer markets are a key area for us. They provide some of our most profitable picks. Be it in the match-day First & Anytime Scorer options. Or in the season-long, Top Goalscorer lists.
I’ve spent some time this morning totting up our settled scorer bets from so far this season. The figure comes out at a very healthy 45% ROI to level stakes. With a couple of 5/1 and 8/1 payouts in there.
In the Champions League, our two ante-post, Each Way selections are in action this evening…
Last night’s Serie A game continued this season’s high-scoring theme in Italy. AC Milan v Roma ended 3-3.
And both the veteran strikers that we discussed in yesterday’s email popped up with goals once again:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic got two, including the opener at 3/1. Edin Dzeko got Roma’s first goal of the game.
Were you on either of those guys? Drop me a line at: oliver@acrosstheleagues.co.uk
The shortest scorer price of the day tag goes to Robert Lewandowski. Last season’s Champions League & German Bundesliga top scorer is as short as 2/11 (1.18) to score Anytime for Bayern Munich at Lokomotiv Moscow this evening (5.55pm kick off).
Lewandowski got a hat-trick in a 5-0 league win for Bayern at the weekend. The Polish striker didn’t find the net on match-day one in the Champions League last week – but his Munich side still won 4-0. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another big score-line from the holders today…
Bayern are just 1/8 (1.13) to win the game. Those two Correct Scores are cautiously priced by the bookmakers – with a 4-0 win at 8/1, and 5-0 at 12/1. Clearly, the layers are wary of a big score-line from the German champs.
It’s a similar case with Liverpool today in terms of the Match Result and Anytime Scorer prices. The 2018/19 Champions League winners are at home against Danish newcomers Midtjylland, and just 1/6 (1.17) for the win.
And in the Anytime Scorer betting, Reds forwards Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are as short as 1/3 (1.33) and 2/5 (1.4) with Bet365, respectively.
One area where I do like the Bayern Munich market tonight is for the -4 Corner Handicap.
We mentioned Bayern’s 1st place ranking for Most Corners in our Champions League Historical Stats last week.
Munich have covered a -4 and -4.5 Corner Handicap in 4 of their last 5 games. Lokomotiv Moscow were out-cornered 8-3 at RB Salzburg on match-day one. A similar 5-corner margin would pay out on the -4 and -4.5 options today, available at around Evens (2.0).
As well as the Champions League & Europa League fixtures this week, there’s also a chunky midweek programme in the English Football League.
In League One tonight, three men stand out on the current form & prices…
Champions League
Lokomotiv Moscow v Bayern Munich
5.55pm – BT Sport
League One
Bristol Rovers v Hull
7pm
Fleetwood v Shrewsbury
7.45pm
Portsmouth v Northampton
7.45pm
I’ll be back with more analysis and advice tomorrow. Wednesday’s Champions League line-up includes Juventus v Barcelona and Man Utd v RB Leipzig.
Enjoy the football…
Best wishes,
